Food is always good at any Dome cafe/restaurant.. I like this one as its a little different to the other Dome cafes I have frequented.. All the other Dome cafes are inner city or surrounded by other buildings.. This Dome is on a jetty thing on the edge of the Swan river.. It even has a jetty that boats can come and tie up to.. The service is good.. Waiters and waitresses are fast with table service and ask how the meal or drinks are. Not many places do that any more..
Edit: This Dome was closed for a couple of months for refurbishment - they have new toilets and a flash new kitchen.. Even the floors in the restaurant have been polished.. The whole place is looking all fresh and new.. The food we had was up to its usual standard.. I enjoyed it as much as I always have..
Edit: I've been here on many occasions but today's visit was somewhat lacklustre..
Whats happened to the quality of service? The person taking my order was so abrupt with me I felt like turning on my heel and walking straight back out.. When the plates came out to my table they weren't placed but dumped with a clatter.. Almost as if the plates were like hot rocks.. My milkshake was half full and had no bubbles in it.. It was more like a cold flat milk drink.. I've had more bubbles in a carton of choc milk I've shaken...

This particular venue is so beautiful.
With tall ceiling to floor windows overlooking the river, great spacious layout, playful and personable staff… I would say this is one of the better places to sit, chat and get a coffee…

If it is a quieter day or appropriate, perhaps some background music or lighting to create a bit more of an atmosphere
IF You do allow function bookings, please put some advertising up indicating this; as the venue is just...
Read more3 of us went for brunch but it was so busy that there was a one hour wait time so many people turned around and left. We decided to have a coffee and a biscuit (Florentine) from the cabinet believing that we would receive our food straight away as it was already there in the cabinet but unbelievably we had to wait an hour for the biscuits that were just sitting in the cabinet. Had we known that we would have to wait an hour for something that was ready to be served we would have left as well. One of my friends didn't get the coffee that she ordered but didn't want to say anything. She ordered a short black but got a short cappuccino..... My recommendation is don't go there if it's a peak holiday period because you'll have a long wait for the table to be cleared from the previous customer and for your order. I really felt sorry for the staff that under such circumstances they were completely run off their feet. The 3 of us agreed that it was poor work planning. BTW the Florentine (when it eventually arrived) was very fresh...
