Quite dissatisfied with this experience. Understandably your busy it's valentines day. nothing remotely service wise was attended to it was shocking picture a table just being cleared of starters and you go to order two glasses of wine before your woodfire mains to get no food or drink for 40 mins. At this point we are starting to notice the small details have not been done for the service like the aircon is off....It was a 35 - 40 degree day today and our water glasses are empty. So at this point I ask where our drinks are at because I really need any form of liquid and if we can move outside. I get assured its first in line at the bar and get apologised to. At this point I expect a lift in service but no I get another 20 minute wait for our drinks after being asked by a waitress who is obviously out to do damage control. Then we finally receive two of our 3 orders main course meals. We finish our stuffed chicken and our potatoes and was still waiting for our pork belly . We assumed it wasn't coming. The waitress cover. She starts with "how was everything?" I replied with "some of it was fine" so then she looks confused at me for a moment til I tell her we are missing our pork belly and at this point after two entrees a main and potatoes spread over 2 hours...understandably we are now not hungry. To be told it's "staggerd food" at the end to cover up a mistake/forgotten meal is the icing on the cake. I tried to see if we could not continue to go ahead with this lonesome 2nd dish but no I had to get it take away. In the end I paid full price for all our food and drink and didn't barter for a freebie but to be brutally honest shouldve gotten one with the service and atmosphere. Total bill is $195.50 plus the surcharge. All in all never again.

Our group of 9 had dinner at Young George last night. On being shown to our table, the waitress was offering options for water, but we couldn't hear because the music was too loud! She repositioned herself from the end of the table to the middle of the table, but again, we couldn't hear what options she was offering. I asked if she could turn the music volume down so we could hear her. She said a colleague would have to unlock the office, turn it down, and then check if the volume level was acceptable. The colleague came and said it was now lower, but there had been no perceptible change in volume. At this point, I wanted to leave as it's impossible to have conversations with supposed background music too loud. We were then offered another table opposite the kitchen where the music was not so overpowering. The menu is a creative fusion of different ingredients that all meld into powerful taste sensations. The food is to die for. Our table consisted of a series of small tables that each rocked and were unstable. I wedged them with a knife under the offending low corner so the stemware glasses šŸ„‚ wouldn't topple over as the table rocked back and forth. It annoys me when restaurants don't pay attention and have a series of wedges to level tables up. I enjoyed each of the sharing plates I tried, especially the Fish Ceviche and the Grilled Watermelon, Blue Cheese, Peppery Leaves, Walnuts, and Balsamic. Although the food was delicious šŸ˜‹ I would not return purely due to the music.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a Montague wine party in their downstairs cellar in August 2023 and I must say it was an absolutely fabulous experience! From the very beginning, the team at Young George proved to be professional, attentive, and a joy to work with during the planning process. Their food and drinks selection was outstanding, making it incredibly easy to put together an amazing night for all our guests. Although the milk bun ramen fried chicken and zucchini were not personal favorites, the overall meal was still fantastic. The variety of food offered was both delicious and creatively presented, with the chef's inventive layer of flavors impressing us all. The wood-fired meats were tender and melted in our mouths, and the carefully curated wine selection added the perfect touch to our dining experience. I must also mention the warm and welcoming decor, which created a pleasant atmosphere that further enhanced the evening. The vibe at Young George is truly enjoyable, and the excellent service we received from the friendly staff capped off the night, making it an all-around great experience. I can't express enough gratitude to Young George for hosting such a brilliant party. The team's professionalism, attention to detail, and delicious food made our wedding cocktail montague party an unforgettable night. Thank you, Young George, for exceeding our expectations!

My partner and I went for dinner last night with high hopes. We sat at one of the higher tables and immediately were taken back by the stickiness of the table. Im talking remember when you went to the local bar as an 18 year old and your shoes stuck to the floor? This was it. When the waitress took our order she had to peel the menus off the table while they made a squelch sound. She didn't think anything of it. I should mention that it took about 20minutes before our food order was taken. We had run out of water, no food and drinks, no service...

We ordered oysters and charcuterie to start. After about 40mins we got our oysters and I asked about the charcuterie. They said they were still cutting the ham so I ordered a big nugget in the mean time (we were quite hungry by this point) The nugget came out about 15mins later. We shared our nugget hoping our charcuterie wouldn't be far behind...

About 80+mins since arriving our charcuterie came out. I asked why it took so long to cut ham and the waitress went to get another waitress. The next waitress came to ask if everythings ok. I explained that while the food was amazing, we were disappointed with the experience and particularly the long wait. The waitress kept trying to justify the time it took saying they only use the best ingredients. I explained I understand, but I'm providing feedback on our experience, again reiterating the food was really good but that we felt the wait was too long. At this point the waitress got upset and snapped that it's not MacDonald's... incredibly unprofessional and not what I expect from a priced dining experience. Most other staff were friendly but it doesn't really matter if you have one as rude as this - it completely ruined the evening

There were other small mishaps like pouring undrinkable water (it tasted like someone filled up half a sparkling water with tap water).

Extremely disappointed. We couldn't fault the food, and yet, we will not return due to the...

We cannot express our dissatisfaction and disappointment in this restaurant. If we could give a 0 we would. It was not overly crowded. We were celebrating a birthday in the family. It took over 1/2 hour to get a waitress to take our order from a very limited menu. We asked for sparkling water and bread. The water failed to appear and we had to ask for the bread more than once. The meal took 90 minutes to arrive. Others in the restaurant were served before us even though they had arrived well after us. The waitresses looked bored and was not particularly interested in serving us. Shame on management for such pathetic service. The meal came at different intervals for each of us. The cos lettuce was gritty with dirt We had organised for a birthday dessert but decided to leave as the entire experience was completely disappointing and we will not be returning. Our host was so angry he left the restaurant as soon as he paid and he had not checked his bill- we discovered on arriving home that we were charged $16 for the sparkling water that failed to arrive. I called Sue, the owner of the restaurant , to discuss our very poor experience and also asked that she phone our host in order that the $16 be paid back to him. Not a word form her. Shameful. What a waste of hard earned money. Go to Little Creatures instead.

PS after reading the response form the owner

The owner has accused me of not giving an honest report. Shame on her The report was honest Still have not received the $16 she owes us She promised a voucher ( which we really are not too excited about after our experience there) with the $16 added on to it.The voucher has not yet been receieved by our son in law. The owner told his father that she took umbrage to my review. Constructive criticism clearly doesn;t help in her case. She has made our experience far worse with her arrogant attitude. Our daughter said she has no use for such a voucher because she would not...
