We had breakfast here before heading to The Royal Show. Since it was early, there weren't many customers so it wasn't overly noisy.
The cafe is very well lit considering the ceiling to floor windows adorn the cafe's exterior and welcomes all the natural sunlight it can get. When there are walls, they're white which gives the illusion of making it more spacious.
I ordered the potato stack as a last minute decision change from the crab pasta (will try it next time), my sister had the crab omelette, my BIL had the korean fried chicken and also the spring berries pancakes to share. The potato stack is probably the best proportioned potato stack I've ever had, it was the perfect portion. If you're not one to eat much, this is enough without feeling over full. I also had a taste test of the crab omelette which is also delicious. You can physically see and taste the crab. Legit, real shreds of crab flesh! I love crab! I feel it's too early for fried chicken but whenever it's the korean fried chicken though, there's crunch and no grease. I liked the ratio of pancakes and sauce was balanced. The berries added sweetness and a bit of tang whilst the cream wasn't sweetened so it balanced with the berries (ying and yang).
I also bought a small donut each for takeaway as an afternoon treat to my niece and nephew. I was surprised to see that the chocolate donut was thoroughly filled with more chocolate and not just coated on the top. 24/09/2024 EDIT: Yup, that cream rose crab pasta is /chefskiss. Its creamy, pasta is al dente, got spice and a generous amount of chunky pieces of crab. I had it for breakfast tho. Filling enough to keep me at bay during my hair appointment. I also ordered the matcha...
Read moreBulgogi Eggs Benedict This was so good! You get two types – one with beef bulgogi and one with portobello mushrooms. Both were super tasty and cooked perfectly. The flavors were rich and well-balanced. We loved it and would definitely recommend it!
Crab Rose Linguine This pasta was also delicious. It had a creamy rose sauce with mentaiko (fish roe) and a little bit of spice – about 1.5 out of 5 in spiciness. The sauce wasn’t too heavy or “jelat” (too rich), which was great. Very enjoyable!
Strawberry Matcha Latte This drink was a bit too sweet for us. We couldn’t really taste the matcha – it tasted more like strawberry jam. If you like sweet drinks, you might enjoy it, but it wasn’t our favorite. If preferred a stronger matcha ceremonial grade powder this might not be for you. But the straw that came along with the drink was so cute, with a bee design.
Ambience & Seating You can choose to sit either inside or outdoors. The environment is very chill and relaxing – a nice place to hang out and enjoy your meal.
Overall: The food was amazing! Everything was well-cooked and full of flavor. Highly recommend checking this place out – definitely worth a visit! In total it...
Read more1.7% surcharge for using card to pay, regular bank eftpos payment, was a bit of a shock. Then, the waitress put my friend’s almond milk coffee (they have a dairy allergy) in front of me, without checking who had ordered it, we discovered it was theirs after I sipped it. Then cam the BLT I’d ordered…..I wondered why the server brought a knife & fork, but the cheap white sliced bread, with a wooden skewer to hold it together, complete with soggy bacon, then made sense. At $14, one would at least expect a roll of some sort, as is the case with any BLT I have previously had. My friend’s avocado smash on sourdough had at least eight mini Roma tomatoes on top of said offering, cut in half to bulk out the offering of barely half of one avocado, at over $20. When my flat white eventually arrived, it was tepid, much like the service we received. Our first visit, but, luckily there are a lot of other cafes in competition in the area....
