If you have a list of eateries to try, please add Yip AU. You may not be able to go back due to where you live or parking in East Vic Park can be challenging, etc., but you have got to try their dishes, even if it's only once! I didn't mind waiting to be seated, or having to put my jacket on cause it was a bit chilly inside. My dry homemade thin noodle with light sauce and deep fried Haka style pork compensated for it! The noodles were cooked al dente, proportionately seasoned, and, most critically, made my taste buds sing! (I almost could hear the Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody song!!) I've tasted other hand made noodle before, and while they're fresh, Yip AU's uncle chef made it so special. For me, it was important that I don't taste the flour, and it was so! (Forgive my extra sensitive buds...) Order at the counter or you can scan at the table to order. Once you're ready, head over to the condiment table to grab your water, pickled cut chilli, and soy sauce (or something like that). There's chilli sauce on the table, too, if you must have your dish extra spicy. Plenty on the drink menu, including Cham (teh tarik and coffee) and yes, you can tell them the sugar level you wish if you don't want to drink sugar, garnished with Cham. There's plenty of space in the restaurant and I saw parents with pram. Young kids may love watching Uncle making the noodles if you get in early enough. The place can be crowded, but you'll be greeted and taken care of by the friendly staff. And you may even get to chat with the Uncle who makes the noodle! I'll be back for more! There's plenty to try, but it's also because the noodles are more-ish.

Yip AU Victoria Park: A Noodle Lover's Dream! Yip in Victoria Park is a true standout, especially for anyone who appreciates the art of traditional noodle making. This place is famous for its hand-pressed, bamboo-pole noodles, a rare and impressive technique that results in unbelievably springy and delicious noodles. You can even see the noodle master at work through a viewing window, which is a fantastic touch! The menu is a celebration of Southern Chinese and Malaysian cuisine, with a focus on customizable noodle bowls. Whether you prefer thin or flat noodles, dry with a flavorful sauce or swimming in a rich broth (the Malaysian curry laksa is a popular choice!), you can build your perfect bowl with a variety of toppings like succulent char siu, tender braised pork belly and trotters, or even Hainanese chicken. Beyond the noodles, their handmade dumplings are also exceptional, and the fried crab claws come highly recommended. They also offer a good range of classic Malaysian hot and cold drinks like Teh Tarik. While there can be a queue, it moves quickly, and the wait is absolutely worth it for the quality of food you receive. The atmosphere is bustling and lively, making for a casual yet authentic dining experience. If you're in Victoria Park and looking for truly unique and incredibly delicious handmade noodles, Yip AU is an absolute must-visit. You'll taste the tradition and passion in every single bite!

3.75 stars Venue: Street parking (need time to find a spot). Causal setting. Malaysian graffiti style painting on the wall. Spacious. Have a function room inside? Self-service counter besides the frontdesk. Clean and tidy. 3 clean toilets. --- 7.4/10 Service: Shortage of manpower. 50% full house when I visited. The manager had to (try to/ be rush to) do everything. Seated immediately and told to place orders by scaning the QR code (more food photos). Can choose to pay at the front desk. Friendly staff. Get tap water, serveitte, utensils, and chili oil at the self-service counter. Resonable waiting time for beverages and food. --- 7.2/10 F&B: Menu booklet was not exactly same as menu by QR code. Abit confused. So, we decided not to order dumplings. Average Hawker's food presentation. Normal food portion. Resonable prices. - Malaysian Curry Laksa, $18.7: There were 2 prawns (normal sized), 4 fishcake slices, 4 half-cut tofu puffs, bean sprouts, good portion ofrice Vermicelli and egg noodles. Laksa soup was good --- 7.6/10 - KL pork Noodles with clear soup, $18.7: There are 2 pork liver slices, lean pork slices, and some pork patties (irregular shape), Chinese vegetables, cripsy deep-fried pork lard, and thin rice noodles. Pork liver wasn't chewy. Clear soup was tasty. --- 7.3/10 - Teh Tarik, $5.8/mug: small size than milo. Normal taste. - Hot Milo. $5.8/mug: Pretty good. Not bland. Good ratio of milo powder.

Tbh everything there was good except the waitress.

The noodles and the side dishes were nice and served quickly. The restaurant is spacious, and the hygiene is fine. I like the brightness and the simple design there personally.

However, the waitress I met today ruined everything. We arrived around 1 pm today. That waitress asked how many people we had today, and then she assigned a 4 seats table to us. However, she asked us to swap the table later for another table with 3 ppl as they had a kid. Iirc she asked us to swap the table from table 13 to table 15. I could understand that she wanted to be considerate and nice to the family behind us. As a worker at the catering, I could totally understand. So that my friend and I agreed to swap the table. At that time, the family behind us and my friend and I had made the order already. It was not necessary to swap the table. But it was still fine after the family and us swapped the table.

The reason why I felt very disappointed started from the food delivery.

First of all, she didn't communicate well with her coworkers. The runners today did a great job. They delivered the food to the table real quick. However, the waitress who served us didn't inform the runners that she changed the table at the beginning. So, the orders shall be swapped as well. So the runners kept delivering the wrong food to our table.

The runner delivered the correct food to us table after she informed the runners the table had been changed. I confirmed that the food belonged to us in both Mandarin and English as well(the staff there communicate in Mandarin). But I didn't know they ignored me and still took out my food to the family. After that, the family told them they didn't order the food I ordered.

Then, the same waitress I kept mentioning previously came back to me around 3-5 mins later and reconfirmed my order again. I told her I had confirmed with her before she took out my plate. The waitress asked me to calm down and said she would fix it. It made me feel most disrespectful and disappointed. It sounded like I was a troublemaker, but actually, it was her fault. She didn't manage the whole process well. Also, she was so rude. I didn't expect to have an experience like that.

In the end, the waitress who was throughout the whole story apologized to us, but she was not sincere at all.

I wish the management could improve the customer service training of that...

The restaurant has a nice vibe and is clean and tidy. The food had pretty big variability in terms of quality, so I'll address them individually. The service was pretty lacking; the food took some time to stay coming out, but some had tk wait much longer than others; one order of fried wontons was forgotten, but came out shortly after asking, so it might have just been sitting there unattended the whole time..

NOODLES: in general, were pretty good quality noodles. We chose the Thick noodles, in both varieties of the soup noodles: Clear soup - was a bit lacking in flavour, but texture was good and nice and fresh Laksa - was nice and rich - I personally would like a more creamier soup, but otherwise, it was much more preferred I've the clear soup.

MEAT: We got Beef Brisket & BBQ Pork; Beef Brisket - relatively tender and OK In terms of flavour BBQ Pork - quite tasty and a good amount of fat, which gave it both tenderness and flavour. more preferred over the Beef Brisket

MAIN: We got a Chee Cheong Fun, it had a good level of seasoning and flavour, and the Cheong Fun was soft and smooth as you'd expect. Overall, it was just at our expectations.

SIDE: We got the fried Wontons: Despite them being forgotten and needing us to check where they were at after waiting a very long time, flavour-wise, they were pretty decent. Even though they were basically cold by the time we ate it, the wonton skin was also light and crispy.

DRINK: We got two Teh Tariks. We got one with less ice, and one with less sweetness: Both tasted about the same, extremely bland and watered down. We could barely taste any milk, it essentially tasted like really really diluted tea. Extremely disappointing.

Honourable mention to the Chilli (oil); very flavourful, and there were no issues asking...
