The place is certainly different from other hotpot places where they use the train belt system like at sushi places. Being our first time and rather large group we went for a table for 8. Their main market is for people to eat using the train belt for getting their meats and it fits more people hence there are a few tables and we were only given 1 1/2 hours for the hotpot session.

The main things with restaurant for me are the foods and the services. And both are excellent. Well the meats and veggies are raw so the hero is the soup/broth. I ordered satay soup and I really enjoyed it even without any extra condiments which will cost you $2 per bowl.

The service is another thing I truly give compliments for. I noticed even with the place getting more crowded, the staff members were always courteous and kind.

Just some tips I learned, it seems I'd better off having the hotpot using at the train belt bench even if it costs more because having them on a table, I find the table is too small to fit the meat plates and there are holes for the soul bowl. I had my plate with meats fall into the hole where there's no soup bowl.

Another thing that I learned why it's better having the hotpot at train belt was because coming as a group they don't do split billing, we had trouble splitting which order belonged to whom while with the train they would count the plate per person.

Since we were only given 1.5 hours stay, there was insufficient time to truly enjoy the food because you need to cook first and add condiments to get the desired taste. 1.5 hours are more than enough for having sushi with the same train belt system, but for hotpot you would need at least 2 hours in my opinion. We were ordering additional 4 drinks which we had to cancel after the staff member reminded us that we were about to hit our 1.5 hour stay.

It's a good different kind of way having hotpot. The foods and service are excellent, just little things that took away the overall experience because we like a place where we can savour and have good conversations with each other without being rushed to eat...

I visited a popular hotpot restaurant today that brilliantly solves the age-old group dining dilemma: how to please everyone with just one soup base. The answer? You don't have to!

The standout feature here is the individual soup pot system. Each person gets their own mini pot with a heating element built into the table, allowing everyone to choose their own preferred soup base without compromise. On my visit, I opted for the Tom Yum soup, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly balanced with a tangy, spicy, and aromatic kick. My friend, a vegetarian, was thrilled with her vegetarian broth, which was rich and flavourful, proving it was more than just an afterthought.

The ordering system is a fun and interactive mix. Similar to a sushi train, a conveyor belt winds through the restaurant laden with plates of fresh vegetables, noodles, dumplings, and other delights. You simply grab what catches your eye, and the bill is calculated based on the colour and design of the plate. For heartier options, a tablet device at the table allows you to order premium proteins like thinly sliced meats, seafood, and tofu that aren't on the train, which are then delivered directly to you.

No hotpot experience is complete without sauces, and this place excels with two well-stocked sauce stations. They provide all the essentials—from sesame paste and garlic to cilantro, chili oil, and soy sauce—letting you craft your own perfect dipping concoction.

The atmosphere is lively and modern, making it a great place for a casual catch-up with friends or a fun date night. The energy of the conveyor belt and the interactive cooking make for a engaging social experience.

A word of advice: while it's perfect for small groups, the tables are limited in size. If you're planning to visit with a larger party (say, 4 or more), I highly recommend making a reservation to avoid disappointment.

Final Verdict: This restaurant offers a clever, customizable, and immensely enjoyable hotpot experience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves personalised meals and...

Visited King Hot Pot with a handful of friends on a weekday night and was a little disappointed with the experience there.

The concept, although different (similar to sushi train restaurants) to traditional hot pot joints, turned out to be quite dear. Definitely take a look at the food menu to order share portions instead of simply grabbing a dish from the conveyor belt. It all adds up!

The vegetables were not very fresh and the quality & freshness of some of the sliced meats were questionable. The fish balls and other frozen ingredients were as per normal.

On a good note, the selection of soup bases for the hot pot was great. I had a taste of a couple of the soup bases ($4.00) — pickle and mushroom. Both of them were very pleasant to start and depending on the ingredients cooked, ended up very flavourful. The unique selection of mocktails (?) were surprisingly good.

Condiments selection was fairly limited as compared to other hot pot restaurants. Be aware that there is a hidden cost for self serve condiments. This cost was not mentioned while making the initial order, but the saucer was placed as part of the original setting at the table, hence my guests and I thought condiments were complimentary?!

Service was definitely one of the bad points of our experience. A couple of the wait staff were not exactly very attentive to our orders and had some sort of miscommunication when we were seated. I reserved a section of conveyor belt side tables for my guests and myself, but while waiting for all my guests, other customers were directed to be seated at my reserved section?! One wait staff specifically had a peremptory tone in which he spoke to us. Not impressed as a customer.

This restaurant is standard Albany Highway, Victoria Park fare. Street parking can be a hassle during peak hours. Make sure to carpool when you can. Watch for ticket inspectors late into the night (😡 City of Victoria Park).

Doubt I will be returning to King Hot Pot anytime soon, unless I’m feeling a little reclusive one day and craving hot...

came on a busy Sunday night with a friend, had to wait around 20min but it was super worth it! there was this weird app that you had the option to download to order through your phone but it completely didn't work so we ordered through the wait staff who were all very kind and friendly, it's very nice there's a call bell button for each seat. I got the mid spicy level plain broth with mushrooms, which ends up having a lot less ingredients than the menu pictures but that's ok. the conveyor belt system is fantastic letting you pick a lot of fresh ingredients as you like. the broth was the perfect level of spice and saltiness with good flavour. got some mixed Korean rice cakes which were awesome, would definitely recommend! the fresh ingredients like mushrooms, tofu, meat and veggies were all such perfect fresh quality. the blended jackfruit drink I got had a bit too much ice in it giving it a watered down quality but overall not bad. it all came to about $40 per person but I had some leftovers to takeaway which they do offer. very excited to come back and try the other soup flavours!
