You should terminate the guy wearing light blue long-sleeves that serves tonight (22nd of December 2025). He is so rude and racist. Me and my family came around 5:30PM to get something sweets as a celebration for my birthday. We do not have a booking, though NOT too many people are in the restaurant that time. We ask politely if can we sit anywhere, he turned his back on us while saying go there and wait to be seated. Then when he came to us, we ask politely if we can get a table outside but how rude he is to give the inside table despite there’s too many table available outside. My husband ask when those people will gonna come, he answered 6:30pm. After having our desserts and drinks, there are still available tables outside and 2 of those who have reservations wanted to be seated inside. In addition, there’s this group of 3 people same nationality with him and he just let them sit outside, doesn’t even have booking. Lastly, when we’re making the orders, we ask if it’s possible to put a Happy Birthday on the dessert plate - he immediately responded “No” saying that the plate is too small dah.. dah.. dah.. I told him, “but I saw on the internet that you guys are doing it”.. he then said that we need to get the cake. — With all these, this staff doesn’t know what customer service really is. He’s rejecting customers requests, doesn’t have compassion and doesn’t offer other alternatives. He’s only good to white customers plus the same nationality with him and not with coloured. You should not maintain this staff because he’s ruining your restaurant’s reputation. I always visited The Sicilian for special occasions and having coffee there from time to time. This is just a very sad experience especially on my birthday. However, I commend the Chinese-Asian guy who served the lovely cake with Happy Birthday on it with a candle. He sings a happy birthday song while serving the cake for me. I appreciate you man! Thank you for making our...
Read moreWhen paying the bill a few weeks ago at The Sicilian Forster, the total amount was $160. I was about to pay by eftpos (as there was a credit charge which, on principle I disagree with) when I noticed that the amount showing on the card machine was for $161.60. I pointed out to the manager, who was attending the cash register, that I was paying eftpos. He said “so?” I said that there is no charge for using eftpos so, after some sighing, he reluctantly corrected the payment to be $160. Last week, we returned to The Sicilian (why I will never know) and told the same manager that I was paying cash. He said the bill was $146.45. I paid the bill with cash and then decided to check the actual bill (which I had to ask for as no bill was shown to me prior to paying). You guessed it! The actual bill was for $145. In this situation, the small amount of money is not the issue. It is the way that it is done. At least ask how the customer is intending to pay and then charge the correct, legal amount. Due to the manager’s reluctance to charge the correct amount on both occasions, I can only assume that this ploy is intentional. A dollar here, two dollars there etc would obviously add up over weeks/months. If this sort of dishonesty is not important to you, then read no further. The meals and service at The Sicilian? We have found a marked deterioration in both meal quality for the prices charged and the very poor level of service. It is a pity, as it was quite a reasonable restaurant in the past. Shall we be returning? No. There are many other restaurants in the Forster/Tuncurry area where you don’t pay $30-$40 for what are very basic pasta dishes. If you do decide that you want to offload $100-$200 for a couple of rather ordinary meals, then this is the place for you. Just don’t expect that you will leave this restaurant feeling you have had a good meal or that you have had value for money. If so, you will be very sorely...
