Coming from an italian family you definitely know what true italian food is So where an Italian restaurant states it is That's a good start but Unfortunately this is not true authentic italian food it's stated on there Web page Not a italian in sight From the kitchen to the front staff Which is fine but please don't state authentic Italian food on yr Web page it not. It was disappointing after reading all the Great reviews saying the best italian food Nothing about any of the food was authentic italian Reading the menu it sounds good but it was just not Entrée Chilli Garlic king prawns in red tomatoe sauce No Chilli, no garlic, and have no idea what A small boiled potato was doing in the middle Of the dish. There was a very small piece of bread on the side. 2nd Entrée Sicilian mussels, were ok again the sauce was Average As we only had the option of the lunch menu and there Was only a small portion of italian dishes And being disappointed in the first 2 dishes We had decided that whatever else we ordered was It's not going to be authentic italian food So main was Battered burramundi with salad and chips Fish batter was crisp and hot and tasty 2nd Salt and pepper calamari These were big round pieces of Soft rubber, definitely not a winner Lunch was finished with an espresso coffee and lemon tart The lemon tart was delicious and store bought but delicious. It's disappointing to find it's not an authentic italian restaurant But a restaurant trying to be italian Service is slow and staff look they don't want to be there. Was asked how was everything? She didn't even wait to hear my answer but just read out our bill, I said wow you didn't even hear what I said, her reply was oh yes I did.

We have been here before when staying in Forster. We are staying very close on the front in apartments in walking distance to the restaurant . Tonight we came back only to find their menu isnt what ot used to be. What we payed for was just pub food , although paying restaurant pricing. We were seated up in the darker area of the restaurant where you could barely see the menu print until we asked to have the lights turned up. The menu was so short on dishes that you would normally see on other Italian restaurant menus there wasnt very much to chose from. The restaurant was busy although the food came out within 15 or so mins of ordering. I also asked for a drink on their drink list which I was told they cant make it for me. I had bosciolla on my order. Ive never been served spagetti noodle in this dish tonight was the first time being served spagetti noodles in a bosciolla dish . I wont be comìng back to this restaurant as its over rated and the food is over priced pub food. Nothing more.

We had an absolutely amazing dining experience at this restaurant! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The location is simply stunning—right next to the ocean, offering beautiful views that perfectly complement the meal. We started with oysters, and I have to say, they were the freshest and most delicious oysters I have ever had. Every bite was incredible, and it felt like they had just been brought straight from the sea. The service was also outstanding. A special shoutout to Mo, who took care of us throughout the evening. He was attentive, polite, and made sure we had everything we needed. Our orders were brought out quickly, and he kept checking in to make sure everything was perfect. Overall, this place is a gem—great food, fantastic service, and a breathtaking location. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

You should terminate the guy wearing light blue long-sleeves that serves tonight (22nd of December 2025). He is so rude and racist. Me and my family came around 5:30PM to get something sweets as a celebration for my birthday. We do not have a booking, though NOT too many people are in the restaurant that time. We ask politely if can we sit anywhere, he turned his back on us while saying go there and wait to be seated. Then when he came to us, we ask politely if we can get a table outside but how rude he is to give the inside table despite there’s too many table available outside. My husband ask when those people will gonna come, he answered 6:30pm. After having our desserts and drinks, there are still available tables outside and 2 of those who have reservations wanted to be seated inside. In addition, there’s this group of 3 people same nationality with him and he just let them sit outside, doesn’t even have booking. Lastly, when we’re making the orders, we ask if it’s possible to put a Happy Birthday on the dessert plate - he immediately responded “No” saying that the plate is too small dah.. dah.. dah.. I told him, “but I saw on the internet that you guys are doing it”.. he then said that we need to get the cake. — With all these, this staff doesn’t know what customer service really is. He’s rejecting customers requests, doesn’t have compassion and doesn’t offer other alternatives. He’s only good to white customers plus the same nationality with him and not with coloured. You should not maintain this staff because he’s ruining your restaurant’s reputation. I always visited The Sicilian for special occasions and having coffee there from time to time. This is just a very sad experience especially on my birthday. However, I commend the Chinese-Asian guy who served the lovely cake with Happy Birthday on it with a candle. He sings a happy birthday song while serving the cake for me. I appreciate you man! Thank you for making our...

When paying the bill a few weeks ago at The Sicilian Forster, the total amount was $160. I was about to pay by eftpos (as there was a credit charge which, on principle I disagree with) when I noticed that the amount showing on the card machine was for $161.60. I pointed out to the manager, who was attending the cash register, that I was paying eftpos. He said “so?” I said that there is no charge for using eftpos so, after some sighing, he reluctantly corrected the payment to be $160. Last week, we returned to The Sicilian (why I will never know) and told the same manager that I was paying cash. He said the bill was $146.45. I paid the bill with cash and then decided to check the actual bill (which I had to ask for as no bill was shown to me prior to paying). You guessed it! The actual bill was for $145. In this situation, the small amount of money is not the issue. It is the way that it is done. At least ask how the customer is intending to pay and then charge the correct, legal amount. Due to the manager’s reluctance to charge the correct amount on both occasions, I can only assume that this ploy is intentional. A dollar here, two dollars there etc would obviously add up over weeks/months. If this sort of dishonesty is not important to you, then read no further. The meals and service at The Sicilian? We have found a marked deterioration in both meal quality for the prices charged and the very poor level of service. It is a pity, as it was quite a reasonable restaurant in the past. Shall we be returning? No. There are many other restaurants in the Forster/Tuncurry area where you don’t pay $30-$40 for what are very basic pasta dishes. If you do decide that you want to offload $100-$200 for a couple of rather ordinary meals, then this is the place for you. Just don’t expect that you will leave this restaurant feeling you have had a good meal or that you have had value for money. If so, you will be very sorely...
