Gerringong Takeaway — Restaurant in Gerringong

After more than a decade of being my favourite fish and chips spot on the south coast the cafe has been sold to the owners of the Hill. There is a a sign in the shop asking for kindness as they find their way and that their hours are limited due to staffing shortages. My problem wasn’t that my order didn’t taste nice (it was bland and had zero salt), it wasn’t that it took a really long time to get (25 minutes) but rather that my order was just plain wrong. I order fish and potato scallops but I wasn’t given the fish. So essentially after driving away with my order I discovered that dinner that afternoon was going to be potato only. It was $12.50 spent but not received. Learning is one thing but getting the order completely...

OMG. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I must on this occasion. Please either learn how to serve and cook or sell the business to people in the know. We ordered a seafood basket and a cheese burger. After about 30 minutes, I went up to the counter to see what the go was. The seafood had been sitting there but still no burger. It doesn't take 30 minutes to cook a beef patty. They do not know what they are doing to put it nicely. The seafood was inedible. We tossed it in the bin. The burger was tastless and dry. This is by far the worst takeaway we have ever received. Luckily, we live 200kms away. Please do better for the Gerrigong community and all the tourists...

I use to go to this takeaway as a child and everyone knew who we were by name and if the original owners were still there they would know who I was 25yrs on. Very sad, we brought potatoes from there the other day and they were not cooked properly and didnt matter how big or small they were, they were bloody awful and uncooked. Had to ask for them to be fried as the sales person was going to sell them cold (its a take away shop selling hot food) also chicken carcasses linning the display cabinets (who wants a chicken carcass!?) .
