I don’t often post reviews, but I honestly need to give some praise for this fantastic food business. I’m a Glen Innes local and I’ve been coming back here every week (sometimes even sooner!) ever since they opened a few years ago.
Whenever I feel like letting someone else do the cooking for lunch, Sweetie Pie’s is always my go-to. They offer the highest-quality bakery foods in Glen Innes, offering nearly anything you can think of, from sweet caramel tarts and delicious chocolate eclairs, to more savoury options like their garlic prawn pies, and their scrumptious cheese and bacon sausage rolls. Their prices are especially reasonable for the quality foods you get.
I also have to praise the service the shop assistants provide, they are always so lovely when they are helping me grab a bite to eat. Nothing ever seems to be too much for their little crew, and you can always put money on their smiles brightening your day.
They also offer barista-made coffees, and for when you feel like relaxing with your hot foods and sweet treats, you can perch up on their vibrant outdoor seating area at the entrance to the shop.
For my most recent trip, I grabbed a curry steak pie, and a lamb and rosemary pie. Both were absolutely divine on a cold winters day in Glen Innes. I honestly think the lamb and rosemary pie is the best pie I have ever come across. The delicate flavours of the juicy, tender lamb and rosemary combine with their succulent gravy to melt away in your mouth. They also offer mint sauce with this pie, however I opted out as I love it on its own.
If you’re thinking about stopping in for the first time, or if you’ve been here before and want to try something new, there isn’t a product on their menu that will let you down! It’s such a breath of fresh air to see a vibrant business such as Sweetie Pies produce such high-quality food for our small town in Glen Innes. Top...
Read moreAbsolutely AMAZING pies! We stumbled on this bakery while passing through Glen Innes. Couldn't believe the crunchy delicious pastry on all the pies and the amount of flavour infused into every filling. We bought enough for another meal and asked the staff to choose one she thought was good. Thank you SO much for choosing the sausage and mash because it was delicious! My choice as best by far of the 4 we got. Highly recommend the beef and mushroom and chicken and mushroom too. We also tried the apricot and cherry pies and they may have even outscored the savoury ones! Actually....everything was outstanding! Thanks for 2 delicious meals. Sadly we are from South Australia so can't become regulars......do...
Read moreafter taking advice from a few locals we managed to find time to get over here and i have to say arriving at 1:30 means you can only choose what 'those in the know' have left but there was still plenty to choose from - the mrs hasnt stopped talking about her salmon mash pastie and lemon curd tart - thank you! 😊
EDIT - thanks to work we managed to score a quick stop-in at the glen on the way through early on a saturday afternoon - as did many others! was amazed to see the baker/chef hard at work cooking on a saturday afternoon. managed to score the best beef and guinness pie though, and incredible toffee-topped profitteroles which the mrs couldnt wait to sample and loved - thank...
