They arranged an amazing KETO meal for me! I read the entire menu and felt so discouraged - nothing was suitable for me, on a strict keto diet to manage a rare, debilitating condition. Every delicious menu item seemed based around starchy or sweet components which I can’t have, and would be threadbare if omitted. Eventually I plucked up the courage to tell the staff member my dilemma. She was very accomodating and said I could put together any ingredients on the menu. I decided on the Prawn Taco Bowl, omitted the corn chips, omitted two other things I can’t remember, and added: “grilled mushrooms” at no extra cost, “house greens” (turned out to be kale) and “microgreens” (sprouts). It turned out beyond my expectations absolutely delicious. The grilled mushrooms happened to be portobello and made the dish a full meal despite the omissions. The Chipotle Mayo was not sweet thank goodness. The prawns were big, perfectly cooked, seasoned, and amazing, the avocado was also generous. All for the standard menu price of $19. My body is so sensitive to carbs that even a “Keto burger”, or Asian without any rice will flare my symptoms (due to hidden sugars in the sauces etc), but this dish Barefoot Barista made for me had no symptom flare, it was perfect. Thank...

Food was okay, never had sunny side up bacon (burnt one side undercooked the other), but overall it was pretty mid.

The service though was not great. I don't mind paying $4 for a cup of hot water with a wedge of lemon, it's annoying like the Sunday surcharge that wasn't written anywhere, but it helps a small business owners with the service costs for staff and is definitely standard in hospitality these days.

What is really annoying though, is asking for a side from the menu and being told it's not made anymore, picking a substitute side and then being charged for an additional main. Mistakes happen, no stress, it was busy! Let the waitress know I think I was overcharged to be told straight away it's a Sunday surcharge. I explain that I understand the surcharge but it's about $20 difference. Waitress comes to table with receipt as food is brought out (food is quick at least!) and realised the side was put through as a main. No offer to refund or assist, just a forced 'sorry' and walked off.

Simple mistake, really easy to fix to avoid burning a couple customers but no effort or care which was actually both surprising and dissapointing!

Acai bowls at the shop a couple doors down are great if you're looking for an...

Very overpriced and no vegan options. Felt like being back in time with limited menu options. Would not return where price feels like it’s based on good location rather than food quality and diverse menu options.

Both my husband and I felt unwell and got diarreah after eating lunch here today. Haloumi wrap was awful, way too much mayonnaise and egg with no flavour (apart from mayonnaise). Regretful choice straight away but ate it because it was so expensive.

Also the salad with the fritters was spicy but I don’t recall it saying spicy on the menu. I was going to share it with my toddler but he couldn’t eat any of it. Also didn’t realise the fritters were made with egg (he’s allergic so could not have that either). Strong egg flavour again. Fritters were better than the salad but more shredded zucchini and carrot in the fritters would have been good.

Comfortable enough booths inside but very small stools at outside tables and didn’t feel very comfortable.

No ramp to access inside space with pram or wheelchair.

The man who served is out the counter was very friendly. The only win for us here...

A bit expensive, but totally worth it. Small menu and I was a bit put out by the prices but decided to give it a go. I had the crispy potato hash and my hubby had the brekkie taster. Both meals were excellent. The house mustard hollandaise on my meal was divine. Perfectly poached eggs and a very tasty potato cake on top of good quality crispy bacon. My hubby’s avo was fresh, fresh and the Bircher muesli was very tasty indeed. We both completely cleaned our plates and were very happy. The takeaway from this is about quality ingredients. They were quality! Service was nice and friendly, place was clean and inviting (with plenty of shade) and a lovely view of the beach across the road. Would I go there again? Absolutely.

Delicious food, excellent location (you can watch the waves roll in) and friendly, efficient service. This is a place to keep coming back to. I’ve visited twice, while on holidays in September and again this week (December 2022) and both visits were great. I was able to slightly vary from the menu and my friends and I had different selections, with all of them being great. Our choices included, Asian slaw salad, Street wrap, avo on sourdough, Karaage burger, and chips. This is definitely on my “go to” list for my next Gold Coast visit.
