Currumbin Beach Vikings SLSC is an extremely popular venue for good reason. From the moment you arrive, people are spilling in vying for tables but the front desk staff run things like a seasoned filmset.

We arrived at lunchtime to sign up for memberships - which in hindsight was probably a very annoying thing to do - but we were cruising around and dropped in spur of the moment.

Leanne was amazing as she helped us complete every part of the new membership onboarding all whilst directing a steady stream of dining hopefuls and answering the phone at the same time. Pretty awesome to witness.

Saturday evening we dined at full length open glass sliding doors facing the ocean and back to Surfers Paradise; the sounds of the rolling surf creating a great contrast to the busy atmosphere inside. The view is undeniably one of the best on the GC.

The food, wow. Serving sizes to satisfy even the hungriest of diners. My husband and I shared the Seafood plate for 2 and ordered a salad that had both our eyes popping. Oysters and prawns super fresh, fish and chips perfect and the salad combo of pumpkin, pepitas, leaves, feta and gojis, a winner. Every mouthful was delicious and we left enough for a third person to have joined us.

Overall, the atmosphere is lovely. Lots of young families, groups of friends celebrating milestones, and couples and singles enjoying the views and the many different menu options.

Every staff member we had the pleasure to connect with was engaging, professional and warm. Obviously a great place to work. Keep up the stellar performance Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club.

Highly recommend a visit - booking in advance is a...

My partner and I had dinner here on 22/04 and I genuinely wish I could give zero or negative stars — no words can fully express the level of disappointment and frustration we felt.

From the moment we entered, the experience was chaotic. There was no greeting or direction from any staff, which led us to unknowingly sit at a reserved table. We only realised later that other guests were being properly greeted and guided, which made us feel completely overlooked.

Most of the waitstaff we encountered were visibly disinterested — no smiles, no warmth, and frankly, no effort. The worst moment came when a staff member accidentally spilled a bottle of cleaning detergent, some of which splashed onto my hand and my partner’s face. Shockingly, there was no apology — just a few towels thrown our way. The complete lack of accountability or concern was appalling.

As the only Asian diners in the restaurant that evening, surrounded by predominantly white patrons who were clearly treated with more courtesy, we couldn’t help but feel that we were being discriminated against. This was deeply upsetting, and unfortunately left us with not only a poor impression of the restaurant but also of our visit to the Gold Coast.

I hope this was an isolated incident, but if you value being treated with basic respect and dignity—especially if you are a person of colour—I would strongly suggest...

It was okay. Finding a park was an absolute nightmare. The club really needs to police who is using the park as many people were parking their cars and just walking off to the beach. We had to park like a kilometre away and walk there.

Once we got in it was absolute chaos, for a Monday it was insanely busy, our meals took around an hour to arrive. My salmon was rather overcooked, a bit dry and the asparagus was a little overdone but still pleasant. My girlfriend had the parmigiana which to me, I felt did not taste like real chicken breast or thigh, it tasted like processed chicken. My sister got the snapper which was good but the salad contained a ladybug. My brother in law got the porterhouse steak which was alright.

The bar seemed quite limited. They didn't have diet soft drinks on tap so you had to pay for cans if you wanted it with a spirit and they also didn't have many selections of rum. No cranberry juice either. The waitress was rather gruff when I was requesting drinks.

When we mentioned about the ladybug in the meal we had all finished and they offered a replacement salad which was a bit strange considering we had all finished our meals.

The place had a pretty good view but for a simple lunch for my dad's 60th it was quite stressful, especially considering it's just...
