Local resident here. Really sad to write this review. The setting of the Sanctuary Cafe is very nice on a shaded deck under a canopy of trees. It is located before the entrance gate so we used to go there often, happy to support the mission of the sanctuary.
Since the pandemic, the quality of the food has deteriorated greatly, prepared-to-order items have been removed from the menu, and quality has become hit-n-miss. Mostly miss.
The dishes that are served look nothing like the displayed photos. The photo of a spectacular gourmet burger invites guests to a mouth-watering sensation. Instead, a recent hamburger was about 2-fingers high, with a scrap of old lettuce and one slice of tomato in a bun that gave new meaning to "flat bread". And "the coffee machine has been cleaned" at 15:50 is a sad excuse when you have a crowd of people ready to grab a coffee after a long day. Hopefully a little coffee van sets up close by, they'd make a killing here in...
Read moreRude, indifferent service. Got a dose of eye-rolling and sarcasm when requesting a correction to an order stuff-up, friends got the same plus their order being slammed on to the counter when it happened to them. No wonder the locals are staying away. I would suggest the only reason this place is in business are the one-off tourist visitors who don’t know...
