STABLE — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

This was our twice a week lunch or brekkie spot for the whole family until yesterday We stopped by at 1.15 and went to order, coffees, fish, avo on toast, chia bread with no dairy and was told they were out of nutelex and had been since yesterday, I thought this odd as Tugan market co, is about a one minute drive from the location and no one had bothered to buy some? As an owner of a business I would have asked someone to grab some or done it myself as these days half the population is diary free. Shame but moved on. Order was taken by a seemingly bright young girl, service was great up until that point. We went and sat in the courtyard and enjoyed the sunshine. 30 minutes later nothing had arrived but they looked busy so didn’t complain, a few minutes later I noticed people who had arrived after us were getting served with fish etc, part of their order was wrong so was sent back,I overheard another table saying I didn’t order this and again the server took it back to the kitchen, then I overheard another table saying it would have been great if all the meals came together not 10 mins apart, at this point when the coffee still hadn’t arrived I went up to the desk and asked how much longer and was told not long now. The chia bread then arrived toasted with butter, we said is this dairy free? and the server looked blank and said no it’s butter, that was sorted and then one coffee arrived at this stage 2.00pm was rolling around and still no sign of the other food, then a young man came up and said they were out of fish, I thought that’s odd as I’ve seen two orders of fish go out to people who had arrived after us, at this point my daughter was sick hungry and just wanted to leave so I went up to the desk and asked the waiter to hand me the chips and my avo on toast which were just sitting outside the kitchen I took them back to our table myself and ate the toast and left. I’m not sure what was going on but DO BETTER STABLE, it’s put us off visiting again, think it’s time to...

Unfortunate bad experience with Health and cleanliness concern...

I ordered fries and I brought it up to the staff. They took the fries and gave it to a back end staff member that was in the open. She finished cleaning dishes and used her unwashed hands to open cupboards before grabbing a container and still not washing her hands and using her hands to flow the fries into the container. When a fry spilled out to the counter she grabbed it with her unwashed hands on the unwashed surface and put it in. All right in front of me. When I said I can’t take this because you used your hands she didn’t apologize. She just said “I’ve never had his happen”. When I asked “what do we do now I can’t take those” she said didn’t know. She Went to the supervisor and asked, they looked at me whispered and she went to the back. Nobody told me what was happening. Nobody apologized. I waited five minutes before new fries came out with no apology from her or supervisor.

I am VERY disgusted and disappointed. Not only an issue of health standard but also customer service or remorse or follow up. Still no follow...

To the new owners of stable, Please be advised of the pathetic service by the male barista this morning at 8ish Sat the 14/6 was deplorable. I ordered a small flat white take away and it took more than 10mins for the following reasons: chatting to another male staff member from the kitchen, half way through making coffees served a lady, meandered over somewhere else, decided to stock plastic lid pile that was already half stacked, then handed a customer her take away coffee after she had ordered after me and I asked ‘where is my coffee?’ And he replied ‘hers is a long black, yours has milk’. I demanded a refund and will never visit Stable again. Whole family spend money each week at stable on breakfasts/lunches, such a disappointment. How hard is it to make a small take away flat white? Pathetic barista service. It’s coffees, clearly paying customers are waiting but deliberately fluffed around and took his time. There are plenty of cafes in the local area.
