We're Americans who recently moved here and are looking for a good Mexican spot like the ones we have back home. We've also been to Mexico almost a dozen times - Isla Mujeres Mexico has some of the best homemade mom & pop eateries. We had high hopes for this spot when we read the reviews, but unfortunately we were let down by the food. The service was good and friendly, the atmosphere was fine, but the food was very mediocre, small portions, bland with no heat, and the rice was undercooked and had no flavor. The salsa was too sweet, the guacamole was like eating the prepackaged versions from the store and the queso wasn't really queso dip. My Aussie brother had the fajitas which he said were delicious and filling (they looked decent), so we had a bit of order envy and wished we had ordered the fajitas instead of the chimichangas and enchiladas. We get it, we're far away from Mexico and it's harder to get some of the ingredients, but it's also not hard to nail the basics. Maybe we'll go back and give it a second chance to try the fajitas. Maybe... (But if you’re ever in our hometown Jackson WY, and want tasty Mexican food - Abuelitos was a favorite for chimichangas, the grande combo, the tampiquena and pollo chipotle, Streetfood at the Stagecoach has awesome shrimp chipotle quesadillas and tacos al pastor and lastly Picas has delicious chile rellenos, carnitas tacos with guacamole and wet burritos).

We decided to try Casa Mexicana for the first time because we were nearby the area and to our own surprise!! FOODS WERE AMAZING 🤩🤩 SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT👌🏼 kind of upset that we didn’t give this restaurant a try earlier. Because CASA MEXICANA is by far our favourite Mexican cuisine restaurant on the Gold Coast. We ordered Nachos + beef + bean and beef tacos and chili con carne tacos and they were 10/10 💯!!!! The Nachos chips, though, could be a bit warmer. Regardless, there were warm chips within the deeper layer of the nachos. Tacos was excellent- we opt for crispy shell; I would love to try the soft shell as well. As you can see, WE CLEANED THE PLATE 🍽️ We didn’t get the drinks, but I did order Lemon Like Bitter- which SLAPPED!! They were not stingy with their ingredients, 10/10!! Although it is not located in a fancy suburb, TRUST, this place still has the atmosphere youre looking for. And overall, this place HAS EVERYTHING IT TAKES TO MAKE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WORTH IT WE WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK💯💯

This was, without a doubt, some of the most incredible Mexican cuisine we've ever had the pleasure of tasting, and the margaritas were simply perfect! The service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and a true delight throughout the evening. What truly elevated our experience were all the thoughtful little touches. We were especially touched by the surprise dessert and tequila shots to celebrate our anniversary—it made the night unforgettable. Every detail contributed to an outstanding dining experience, and we couldn't be more grateful!" P.S the kids were chanting 10/10 as we left…

Estupendo Mexican Food Went to Casa Mexicana to celebrate my birthday . You can choose inside or outside seating (still under cover). Family run restaurant that cooks great tasty Mexican food . Is licensed so can also get a great margarita, sangria or beer. ( when they found out it was my birthday got a fish bowl margarita ! ) . We chose a chilli dip to share - hot version . They give you a Choice of mild medium or hot ). Was great appetizer , nice and spicy if you enjoy that . We then share prawn fajitas. Served on a sizzling plate. Presentation and taste was awesome . Service was as fast or slow as you wanted . ( we only ordered each course when we wanted it). Family owned and run, everything is cooked fresh . Thoroughly recommend for a great Mexican feed. Not cheap but great value...
