I don’t usually post reviews on restaurants but I was really disappointed with my experience at Seven Brothers Steakhouse. My family & I went during Father’s Day/Sunday, I had anticipated it would be busier than usual but also hoped the management would compensate by having more workers on. We had booked prior & our reserved table was occupied so we were told to wait 10 minutes, which was fine - when compared to the rest of the our dinner experience. After waiting 10-15 minutes for our table, we were finally seated & handed our menu’s. There were no plates set up, only the cutlery. A server set out some cups for us but didn’t provide us with any water. We had picked what we wanted and waited about 20 mins til we had to go find a waiter & ask them to take our order. We waited another 10 mins for our server to finally take our order. Afterwards, we waited another 30 minutes til our entree’s came out. We had ordered the Korean tacos due to previous reviews & they did taste good. The calamari was seasoned well however not crispy. Once we finished our entrees, we waited another 20 minutes til a server came to collect the empty plates. We asked how much longer the main course would be as we had been doing a lot of waiting. We were told the meat comes out 10-15 minutes after the entrees are finished. However, we had finished our entrees awhile ago so we had to do more waiting. So we ended up waiting another 20 minutes til we decided we would just pay for what we ate & leave.
However, the our main course finally came out as we were waiting at the counter. So we decided we might aswell just eat it since we waited so long. To our dismay, the two steaks we ordered were very under seasoned. I had to go ask for salt because it tasted so bland. The meat wasn’t cooked to the temperature we asked for. The sirloin had a burnt taste to it which was unpleasant. The wagyu was okay but not worth the price.
We had overheard a neighbouring customer speak about his last 5 experiences at this restaurant & how they only ever got his order right once. He had waited approx. 50 minutes for his order and decided to leave, which I wish we had also done but I was holding out on the hope that the food would taste good once it arrived.
Overall, the restaurant seemed overbooked with the large amount of families. Understaffed. Quality of food wasn’t up to par or worth the price. They ended up running out of food. The way the restaurant was run, was inefficient too.
TLDR: We had to wait literally 2 hours to get our main course meals. Poor management. Overbooked. Inefficient. Food ended up tasting bland, had to ask for salt. No plates or water was provided until asked. Customers around us were unhappy with their experience which affected our mood too.
I was really hoping that I was taking my father out to a nice steakhouse but it turned out to be a sad experience for...
Read moreCame into the restaurant at 2pm and it was pretty much empty except 2 tables. Looked inviting so we sat down. The waitress came over and was pretty rude, no hi, hello or welcome. All they said is that we shouldn't have seated ourselves and they are reservation only and can't serve us. I asked if we can have some coffee and were told the same thing. Pretty surprised since the restaurant was empty and she said they're open till 9pm. Not sure if they just don't like dark coloured people or they already have enough money, or what? No explanation, just that they wouldn't serve us. A bit disappointed.
My Reply Firstly, I was not rude nor did I swear at your staff as you've alleged. As mentioned the first thing you staff member said was "Did you seat yourselves?" No, Hi, Hello or welcome. The basics of customer service. I was a bit taken a back ,then she said we couldn't be served. At that point I asked why not? Your staff member said she didn't know why it was just what the manager said. I was then annoyed, but maintain I wasn't rude. I was as annoyed as any reasonable person would be in my situation. I feel you put your staff member in a difficult position due to your own personal prejudices, not me. Now I see why there were no salutations, as your staff member was probably already anxious about the situation you've just placed them in.
Secondly, since your response didn't address the reason as to why weren't able to be served. I'll assume that perhaps I was correct and the reason we were refused was prejudicial. This sir or madam, will be taken further as in this day and age, there is no place for such prejudicial behavior in Australia.
Lastly, I feel sorry that your staff member was upset, no one should feel like that at work. Did you look at your part in any of this or is your regular response to blame everyone else? I suspect if you spoke to your staff you'd see it was due to the position you put her in, no support from management. You tell them to refuse services to someone without explanation to them or us. Then expect them to deal with that on they're own. Why weren't you able to come and tell us? Why Weren't you able to provide then with the reason we weren't able to be served? Would that not have eliminated this whole issue? but I guess people like us are beneath you right? You don't come and talk to us right?
I'll be quite happy for my mother, father and sister to add reviews here...
Read moreNot great. On first walking in at 6.20pm the restaurant was absolutely empty which is never a good sign. There was a massive hole in the ceiling with electrical wiring hanging down. They are not licenced, so no BYO or buying a glass of wine or beer to go with your steak in this steakhouse. The menu was very limited and we had to wait an hour for meals (remember the place was almost empty). What’s worse is that it was a 25-30 minute wait to bring meals out but they only brought the kids meals and then another 20 minute wait for the adult meals. We had not asked for kids and adult meals to be brought out at separate times. They misunderstood our order, gave us a medium rare steak instead of medium well so had to wait more time again to cook it right. The mushroom sauce was too peppery unfortunately, perhaps they gave us pepper sauce instead. The staff even though they were nice seemed unsure of their role. The price of $88 was reasonable for our our 2 kids meals, kids drinks, side of onion rings and 2 main rump steak meals. However whilst there we heard the table across from us complain about their $80 main which apparently was a “joke for what they received “. It’s a shame, they had a great inviting family focused appealing website which is what brought us there even though we live 35 min drive on the southern end of the Gold Coast. We were looking for a great family friendly steakhouse with good food and good atmosphere and service, unfortunately 7 Brothers is not it. I also spent that night and the following day with terrible stomach cramping and diarrhoea, not sure if it was anything specific about the food, I had not eaten anything earlier that day due to my busy day, but something in that dinner did not...
