We found the food to be the best Indian we had tried . Go try it, you won’t be disappointed . You can select from a range of heat - mild , medium , hot and Indian hot . We had Indian hot as we enjoy spicy ! After consultation with the friendly waitress we selected Goat Madras and Prawn Goan Curry . Instead of rice we selected breads . We had Garlic Naan and tried for first time Masala Kulcha and Masala Flames Naan . Each and every dish was amazing, mouth watering and the spicy heat was just right for us. To top it off we got a surprise happy birthday serenade with a home made ice cream topped with a sparkler . Ordered Chicken and Beef Vindaloo, requested hot, ensured emphasis on the heat level eg Not white Australian hot, was given a smirk and "OK, hot".
Neither were any spicier than a KFC wicked wing, which is a real indication of what the owners think "Hot" and "Vindaloo" mean, also what they think white Australians know, or dont know, about how Indian cuisine should taste like.
It seems they also used the Byirani base sauce for the chicken Vindaloo and were in the process of making the actual base sauce for the other meals requiring it. Bland, salty, no indication of star anise, cardamom, or cumin. It was edible but unfortunately not even close to being decent.
I've eaten Indian cuisine in Hyderabad, Goa, and Fiji. I know what it should taste like.
