Thai’s Time Cuisine Labrador — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

We’ve been coming to Thai Time since it opened as it was perfect the 4-5 times we’ve come. The dishes felt special, delicious, we always ate more than we needed.

Tonight just wasn’t the same, something’s changed and it was such a shame as we loved this place and used to take our friends and family when they visited.

Yes the restaurant seemed busier than ever so the single waitress took awhile to take our order, and the food was a long wait compared to past experiences. When it came, it was plonked down on the edge of the table as the waitress was already turning to go back to the kitchen. There was no taking of the empty plates or drinks, no respect was given to our food. Very unlike our previous experiences when everything was placed with care and attention. The waitress just seemed in a rush, and came across even a bit rude.

And then the food. We used to adore the Panang curry here, couldn’t stop eating it, but tonight it lacked lustre, and for $25 it was a bit disappointing the amount of seafood. And unfortunately the crispy calamari was not crispy, and had a flavour and feel of cornflour? It tasted like powder. We rather lost our appetites tonight :/ We asked for rice with the meal, as a couple we were delivered a single serve about the size of a cup - which was on the small side for usual Asian side of rice, and were charged $5, for rice!

The feel has rather changed at our old favourite, with what appears to be new staff who don’t take the care and time of the owner, and what we feel seems to be a lost touch for flavours. Not sure if we’ll try our luck...

Terrace Thai Restaurant in Runaway Bay and in Labrador is owned by same people,a lovely family, and without any doubt is the best Thai food we have eaten anywhere. We took our family and friends there, even one of the friends is a chef , and he was equally impressed .We tried different dishes, and each time on our return , it is hard to decide what to chose. , The menu has a beautiful big variety from beautiful and tasty Entrees eg Mixed Entree (4pcs) to fresh tasty salads, eg Thai Beef or Thai Chicken , just to mention the 2, then a variety of Chefs Specialties such as BBQ Lamb,an absolutely very beautiful and " moreish " dish, But if you prefer, dishes from the Wok, there is a mouth watering Stir -fried with Cashew Nut, or Sweet and Sour with choices of Vegetarian, Tofu, Chicken, Beef, Lamb or seafood or mixed Seafood.If you are a curry lover it is Gluten Free ) with more than 6 choices of curries. And last but not least, the Most famous Thai Noodle dish Pad Thai Noodles, and Pad See Eiw along with other delicious Noodle dishes is also at your choice. Beautiful and tasty Rice is also available , and Roti Bread, All the meat and vegetables are perfectly cooked and they all compliment each other with fresh salad with certain dishes. Something for everyone for sure, with very friendly, welcoming and helpful service! from Jibb , her family and happy working team ! Came for dinner with family. Entrees were really nice.

I ordered Crispy/Crackling pork and broccoli, received anything but crispy pork, no crispy whatsoever, and broccolini stems, no florets, just stems, waitress asked if everything was ok as I didn't eat much, I simply said "It would have been good if there was Crispy" I was happy to leave it at that.

Ohhhh that's when the fun starts, 1st she pokes at the pork flesh part and tries to tell me that is the crispy/crackling, I tell her "No that is pork flesh, and if that is crispy, it's overcooked or burnt"

I ask her to get the menu to compare picture with plate.... 2nd she comes back from kitchen and says "Ohhh We received wrong type of meat and didn't realise" I laugh a little and ask her to get menu please.......

3rd she comes back with some heavily deep fried pork, fried until rock hard (You could say crunchy LOL) and says "Our delivery just arrived, (Friday 8:30pm) here is your pork......."

I asked for the menu again, she finally comes back and I open to the picture and asked if they are remotely similar?

She then says "I am sorry I will have to ask the Manager that?"

The others at our table decided not to say anything LOL

I was done, we paid and left, definitely won't be back. Only sorry I didn't...
