Extremely Disappointed – My Son Was Attacked by Another Child, No Proper Response from Staff at Chipmunks playland Robina
I am beyond disappointed with our experience at Chipmunks Playland Robina. What should have been a fun and safe outing for my son turned into a traumatic event due to the complete lack of supervision and safety protocols at this facility. My son was attacked by another child while playing. The most frustrating part of this experience was the utter lack of response from the staff, who seemed to be completely unaware and uninterested in addressing the situation.
While my son was about to go for a slide, a child came up and physically attacked him, scratched and bit his face. My son was left shocked and hurt, but no staff member was nearby to stop the situation or help. I immediately rescued my son and approached the stuff but it took several minutes for someone to come over and they seemed unsure of how to handle the situation. There was no apology or attempt to ensure my son was okay.
What’s even more frustrating is that I learned that the child who attacked my son had exhibited aggressive behavior toward another child that day, yet no action had been taken. This lack of monitoring and proper response to incidents like this is completely unacceptable, especially in a children’s play area where safety should be the top priority.
If there had been proper supervision or attention to the children’s behavior, this situation could have been avoided. It was clear that the staff were either under-trained or overwhelmed, as they didn’t seem to know how to manage aggressive behavior from other kids or step in quickly when incidents like this occurred.
It’s extremely frustrating that a facility that is supposed to be a safe and fun environment for kids didn’t take the necessary precautions to ensure safety or offer any kind of assistance when something went wrong. As a parent, I expect staff to be vigilant, trained to handle these situations, and responsive when incidents like this occur.
We asked the staff for a resolution for this incident not to happen again but we were told that “THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. WE ONLY PROVIDE THE FACILITY ,PARENTS SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR KIDS AND TO GET A LAWYER TO TAKE IT FURTHER” No empathy whatsoever.😠😠😠. ⛔️This place doesn't care if your child gets hurt or injured inside their facility.⛔️
I regret taking my son to this play center, and I would caution any other parent against bringing their child here. I hope that the management will take immediate action to address these safety concerns, improve staff training, and ensure that proper supervision is in place. Until then, I will not be returning and will not recommend this place to anyone. My son’s safety should never have been compromised, and no other child should have to go through what we...
Read moreWe had a Grandsons Birthday there last Saturday, for the price that was paid, we were very disappointed, not in the place itself. On arrival we told a young lad who we were and asked where to go, and He pointed and said over there somewhere, i ordered a tea and toasted sandwich, the tea arrived after 15 mins, and waited another 20 before going up and asking about my sandwich which there it was sitting on the servary, because they didn’t write a table number on it, and THEN one side was toasted and the other wasn’t. At one stage we had three numbers on our table as the staff didn’t think to remove them or all the dishes we used. I also complained that the nappy bin was full and was stinking( and I’m pretty sure it just wasn’t that days nappies) but still was not emptied. I really do believe you need to have an adult supervisor on that can direct the junior staff, its obviously about money, but considering two centres have closed, and hearing My Daughters Friends having similar experiences, They are not happy either. Im sorry to sound negative but it was really disappointing. The 2 Girls were...
Read moreThe café is overpriced, I pay 4.50 for a regular coffee in the town centre let alone $5.50 for a gross one here, and the food in the cabinet tastes stale. The space feels cold and uninviting, with exposed ceilings and very little decor or effort put into the design. There are far too many tables and chairs, making it feel cramped and cluttered.
What bothered me the most was having to ask the staff to make an announcement for older kids (over 4 years) to leave the babies’ area. I had two babies with me who were almost stepped on, hit, and had blocks thrown at them by bigger kids who shouldn’t have been in that section. There should be staff actively ensuring these restrictions are followed for everyone’s safety.
The cleanliness also left a lot to be desired—there was hair and dust everywhere, and the place had an unpleasant smell. Overall, not a good experience.
I did like the fact that babies under 1 were free this is an appropriate price and made it...
