Robina Town Centre has lost compassion for it's elderly patrons and anyone suffering health issues. I have witnessed a clear lack of concern for humanity in this shopping centre and I need to speak up.
I shop at this centre regularly because it's local for me. But I much prefer Pacific Fair Shopping Centre because it reflects compassion for its patrons by offering plenty of seating in different welcoming environments throughout the centre.
Robina on the other hand has taken its seating away from many of its public areas. And much of the limited seating on offer is uninviting and unkind on peoples bodies particularly the elderly or anyone suffering with health issues. I have been at Robina on a busy day at lunch time and there's no seating left to just have a break from shopping. I have seen elderly people and even younger people desperate to find a seat. Even staff that come out for a break have no where to sit.
Most people will need to sit down but there are some people who will be effected more than others if this is not possible. But it's not just seating availability it is about having spaces that are thoughtful towards peoples needs. Think about shoppers who may struggle with some social anxiety or just become fatigued by a busy stressful experience and need some peace. These people need quiet places, areas they can sit alone, not in coffee shops or food courts that are usually packed at lunch time. But sadly such places no longer exist in Robina Shopping Centre... although they did once, and all of that seating has now been removed. Why is the question?
People can choose to shop online but that keeps the elderly and people already suffering mental or physical health issues ISOLATED and this compounds already existing problems for people. Robina Shopping Centre Management you need to grow a conscience and be a part of the solution in our community not the problem!
In a world that throws more and more challenges up for people to deal with we need compassion not more pain!
People first before profit!
Yours...
Read moreSooo love Robina. Always surprising us. We live over the border in NSW and visit Robina when we can and have been going for about 8yrs. This last visit found yummy Breadtop and and Asian Market place over near Coles.. haven't seen Breadtop in years so was great suprise. This side of Robina will be our new favourite.. highly recommend visiting.
Edit: 14th Sept 2024... haven't been since Jan. An our brief visit was disappointing.. starbucks left. Driving straight from Lismore NSW.. we would park up top above David Jones and then it's a lovely walk outside, quick stop to take pics of down stairs of the lake.. an then into starbucks an down to eatery an toilet. But today.. was a shock. Shops boarded up, no starbucks and straight away see 3 security guards.. made us feel uneasy.. eatery while looks great, I was saddened by the state of the benches, torn an worn many down to fabric underneath, not hygienic at all.. only good thing was the food.. In-a-bowl and Brisket... soo good. Bought a bag of food from each place to bring home. After the first encounters upstairs. Was not encouraged to go venturing any further.. I am sad as Robina is our family go to and happy place. Yes is 1hr an half away, but it is do able.. due to this experience I have dropped the 5 stars to 3. I live in hope that the quality of eatery benches will be improved, especially for hygiene
Edit.. 5th April 2025
After a long drive back to Lismore, Robina was a warm, welcomed stop. Firstly, what's happening with the escalators still out M level above woolies. Our daughter hates lifts, and that is the only option on that parking level.. last visit was like that too. That's on me for parking there. Secondly, well done Robina.. love the new seat covers in the eatery.. the colour pops. Material not too slippery or sticky.. an looks to be easy wipe for cleaning for staff. Which at the time we arrived late afternoon. Eatery was...
