Ida's Kitchen — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

One star because the orange juice was nice. Came in here on Saturday to a completely empty cafe (should have been a sign) ordered a basic breakfast and two orange juices. One other couple came in about 10 minutes after us. We noted they got their food before us but waited another 25 minutes before checking with the kitchen - “oh they must not have seen your docket” was the response I got, then charged me $17 for two orange juices, no apologies, nothing. There was one other table there so it’s not like it was busy. Do not recommend!

Edit - in response to reply to owner - if your staff were paying attention at all they would have noted that the ONLY one other table in the entire cafe hadn’t received their food. The waiter was short and disinterested from the moment we walked in, seeing as he took our order, and there were only two tables - would it not be reasonable to assume he would notice that we had not got our food. Ida’s kitchen catered the cakes for my wedding last weekend and if I could I would have rated them 10 stars. Seriously the best cakes I have ever eaten. My dream for my reception was 1) That no one leaves hungry and 2) That there be good cake. Well they certainly delivered on dream number 2. My sister commented on the fact that I spent at least 30 minutes at the cake table sampling all the goods and she was 100% correct - I couldn’t step away. The most delicious flavours of sticky date, carrot, strawberry (one of my favourites), apple custard (another favourite) and chocolate. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about them and me and my husband have already decided that we are going to order some more for our birthdays next year (or really just anytime a cake is required) ! 10/5 stars for sure. It was seriously hard to go past the chilli scramble on the menu (sounds so good - next time!), but I was in the mood for a classic bacon/eggs/tomato combo and mannnnnn, did they do it perfectly! Even after travelling 10 mins as a takeaway, the scrambled eggs are on point (and I'm insanely picky about my scramble!) - the photo says it all really, silky and sublime, and seasoned beautifully, so tasty. I always ask for crispy bacon and I asked for the toast to be on the side, so it doesn't get soggy, and they delivered everything exactly as requested.
