We've recently moved to the area and we're so excited to try Jafa and make it one of our regular places to eat after hearing positive things - sadly it was such a disappointment!
The food was terrible (what happened Chef?) which was such a surprise to us. Poor value for money, too. Our Cesar salad was nothing but limp, sad lettuce and what seemed like remnants of a poached egg. Why so stingy? It was tiny and poor value for $20+.
The pizzas were just such a let down - it was as though the bases hadn't been prepared properly or something had gone wrong in the kitchen. They were undercooked, doughy and overpowering in flavour with polenta flour. Just not pleasant to all. We ordered the Classic and Prosciutto pizzas - the fillings were generous enough, but they just lacked flavour and were overpowered by the taste of polenta flour. Such a disappointment!
I'm sorry - we really wanted to like you and support you regularly as a close neighbour, but this was a lousy experience for us to say the least. We won't be returning or...
Read moreJafa Italian Restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a great vibe that makes it perfect for both a casual meal and a special night out. The menu has a fantastic variety, and every dish we tried was full of flavor, fresh, and beautifully served. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the pizza had the best balance of crisp and chewy base, and the desserts were simply irresistible.
The staff go above and beyond – friendly, attentive, and always happy to make recommendations, which really added to the experience. It’s clear they take pride in both the food and the service. Prices are very fair for the quality and portion sizes, and you leave feeling more than satisfied.
If you’re looking for great Italian food on the Gold Coast with excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere, Jafa is the place to go. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be coming...
Read moreSad to say the standards for this place have dropped since the last time we came here last year. First time we came here we had the 'wagyu meatball pizza' - big, fat, juicy wagyu meatballs with chirizo, large dollops of cheese and zucchini. However, now the name has changed to just 'meatball pizza' - small, bland meatballs and chorizo without zucchini or buffalo cheese (online description and picture say there's buffalo cheese, but we couldn't see any on ours). Very disappointed with the pizza. Definitely not worth the same price as the original. Also the bag of jafas they give out for free were half faded - maybe been sitting there for a while... Not sure if this is because of the COVID situation or maybe it's the new normal. I hope it's temporary... miss the original...
