I feel compelled to share my extremely disappointing and distressing experience at this Teppanyaki restaurant. Our eagerly anticipated family outing turned into an evening of sheer embarrassment and discomfort due to the shockingly unprofessional behavior exhibited by the cook.
From the outset, it was evident that the cook had no intention of providing the entertaining and skillful showmanship that is typically associated with Teppanyaki dining. Instead of delighting us with culinary expertise, he chose to subject my 10-year-old son to a bizarre and unsanitary act by tossing egg shells, which ended up oozing all over his innocent face. This not only created a mess but also caused unnecessary distress for my young child.
The situation escalated when the cook, without any regard for the presence of children and families, asked my wife to record his performance. Shockingly, while she was in the process of recording, he brazenly made an offensive gesture by displaying his middle finger. The utter lack of professionalism and disrespect for guests left us appalled and deeply embarrassed in front of our impressionable children.
As if this deplorable behavior wasn't enough, the cook continued his reckless actions by hurling scalding hot eggs directly from the pan, which resulted in my 13-year-old daughter being hurt. The pain and distress she experienced were not only physically harmful but emotionally scarring as well.
It is truly disheartening to witness such a lack of basic courtesy, professionalism, and consideration for guests' well-being at a dining establishment. I would strongly advise anyone seeking a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience to steer clear of this restaurant. The behavior displayed by the staff goes against every expectation of respectful and competent service, and I cannot in good conscience recommend subjecting oneself or loved ones to such a distressing encounter. This toothless clown was drinking inspite of all his gimmicks.
It is imperative to emphasize that this is an...
Read moreLots of attitude from the staff who took our booking over the phone because they absolutely needed to know if it was a booking for 3 or 2 and a highchair. I’m not sure how we’re expected to make that call without knowing the height of the tables/chairs for our 2 year old. If it was a busy weekend I could understand the logic, but it was an average Monday night and there were certainly no shortages of high chairs or any other babies/toddlers present. It’s important to also note that they don’t take bookings for grill seating, it’s on a first come first serve basis.
We were seated at the grill on request purely for my toddler who would’ve enjoyed the show, but we got nothing. In fact our meals were cooked in the back kitchen and not even in front of us! We looked on at the party opposite us who were getting a spectacular show with an engaging chef, however we were not even acknowledged.
The food was a huge disappointment and expensive for what it was. We spent $150 for 2 adults and a toddler. The fried rice upgrade is a joke (just a whole lot of soy sauce, garlic and some scrambled egg) and the rice was inedible anyway because of how much garlic used. Lotus chips were small, over-cooked, oily and looked like we got the last scraps from the bottom of the bag or something. We received barely any meat or veg and the meal was bulked up with onion and mushrooms.
Despite there being plenty of staff floating around, service was non-existent and I had to call staff over each time to order food, ask for cutlery, drink refills etc. No one asked how our meals were or paid any attention to us at all really. The whole experience was so disappointing and we will not...
Read moreBooked this place specifically as an experience for my kids and mentioned during the booking we would like to try the banquet menu so they advised we will be allocated grill seating. I should have taken this as a warning sign this is not a true Teppanyaki restaurant.
On arrival, they directed us to a standard table to the side of the bar. How can you possibly experience Teppanyaki when you can’t even see the chef or the grill? We mentioned to the waitress that is not acceptable and we were told specifically we would be given grill seating when we booked, otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. They then tried to fit us on the end corners of their grill bar, which is around 4-5 seats away from the closest grill, which we again declined. The waitress then got a colleague involved who tried to argue grill seating is only a preference not a booking promise. Why would we want to pay Teppanyaki prices when we could be going to any other Japanese restaurant for the same food if you can’t watch the chef cook your meals directly in front of you?
You can not call this a Teppanyaki restaurant when only a max of 10-12 people (crammed tight together as well) can actually sit in front of a grill to watch the chef cook their meals, while the rest of the seating can barely see, if at all. The seating set up is a scam, and we will not be visiting this restaurant ever again. We promptly walked out, would give 0...
