Kooco is located in a weird section of Nerang (away from all the shops) in a small business centre by the M1. But don’t let that deter you. My wife and I had lunch here for the first time and really enjoyed it! Coffee was good (double piccolo) and my Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger was super yummy! Perhaps one of the best chicken burgers and fries I’ve had in Oz. The chicken was moist, flavourful, and perfectly crispy and the fries, so so good! Great job!
The Refresh (cold pressed juice: ginger, beetroot, carrots, and apple) was great, and the Grilled Chicken Salad was beautifully presented with great flavours and the chicken not dry.
The ambience, however, seems a bit unfinished, lacking in warmth . It’s needing 7 or 8 large potted and hanging plants and perhaps some artwork. Staff was not exceptionally warm but they were polite, respectful, efficient (the food came out super fast). We’ll for sure come again and would recommend Kooco’s to anyone. We’re even adding it to our cafe list for our Airbnb guests in Mount...
Read moreI’m always excited when I find great cafes on the Gold Coast that I haven’t been before. KOOCO cafe is that place.
Located in Nerang in what seems to be a former hotel, but is now a Good Life fitness centre and a cafe. Hence, there is plenty of outdoor and underground parking. And, as I parked my vehicle I finally found where that stunt school is I always see from the highway. Park in the lot, do a couple flips and prat falls at the stunt school, then head on in to the cafe for lunch. Sounds like a good day to me.
The decor is a mix of modern white and wood in the open plan setting. There is a lot of space to sit, both indoors and outdoors. I only had a coffee this time around, but the staff seemed to know a lot of the regulars and it was a really friendly atmosphere. Those regulars also seemed to be enjoying their meals. Don’t judge how busy it is by the photos. I was there near closing.
Although I don’t get to Nerang that often, I’ll definitely take my family and/or return for...
Read moreFood was tasty and presented well and friendly service. Some small recommendations to achieve higher stars. I found it hard to find a menu, they could be placed and ready on the tables instead of trying to find it at the counter while people are ordering. I then realised I had to go back up for a seperate drinks menu. I ordered a salad (see attached pic) which was delicious, but needed quite a bit of salt and pepper as the dressing was very very subtle. The menu was very standard and simple, what you would expect to see at every cafe, would be great to see some...
