I always wonder how the food is like in Rumi as I always see it every time I eat in the Japanese restau beside it. We ate here last night and I want to give this restaurant a fair review. First of all the restaurant look unique and you can smell the spices they used in their food the moment you walked in. They have outside seating as well. The table has these blue plates which looked really attractive hence the reason I touched it but found it really dusty and rusty and as a customer I would appreciate it out of our table. The wait staff is polite and gladly answered our questions with food. The pictures I have uploaded showed what we had. The èntree is called Ash and it has this unique taste that we haven't tried before and it was savoury however not our favourite at all. We ordered the yogurt drink doogh which I find really salty at first until I got used to it and I would have appreciate if salt is optional to be adjusted as per taste and fresh mint on top would have make this drink really good but otherwise I liked it! We ordered lamb (for me) and bbq platter for two for my husband as he is a big eater. Their bbq was really nice and cooked to perfection and it was accompanied with a side pickled garlic, grilled tomatoes and chips and salad as well. The rice was really nice and it was my favourite. My lamb was covered with a yummy pastry and the lamb was fall of the bone however I find it really bland (I had similar cuisine in Dubai and it is packed with spices) and I thought it must be catered for Australian taste which is sad as the food is beautiful. I wanna give 5 stars for the chips as it was really cooked really well. The staffs who served our food keep asking if we like what we have ordered and they somehow looked tense and I can understand why as I went through the old reviews that gave them 1 star due to mostly misunderstanding. All the meals we ate that night cost us $91 which I consider on expensive side but mind you the meal is for 3 people so I guess it will be alright if there's 3 of us but that will make the bbq platter too small for two people as their meat is cooked really well and it will be hard for big eaters to resist the meat. Overall I will come back for the bbq meals but I will not order the same èntree and lamb and I will still have the yogurt drink but probably less salt. Good waiting time. I am hoping that they will cook their meal as the way they will cook it in their home country as I love the kind of...
Read moreAvoid Rumi at all costs! We have visited Rumi several times in the past, but this will be the LAST time. The service was absolutely horrendous, and the entire experience was an utter disaster from start to finish. First, my husband ordered before me, but for some reason, his meal was completely forgotten. After waiting for 20 minutes, we had to ask where his food was. The waiter claimed that his "well-done steak takes longer," but after another 15 minutes, we were told the order only went through 15 minutes ago—despite us clearly ordering first. When we tried to explain the situation, the staff was aggressively defensive, with one waiter even blaming us, saying, "It’s your fault, not our staff’s." Unbelievable. The steak arrived, and of course, it wasn’t even close to being well done. After sending it back three times (yes, THREE), it still wasn’t cooked properly. We finally gave up, but by that point, the whole meal was ruined. The frustration was beyond words. When we tried to speak to the so-called "owner," Mason, about our issues, his response was outrageous. He asked if we worked in hospitality (which, by the way, is completely irrelevant), and when my husband said no, I said yes, he snapped back with, "Well, if you worked in hospitality, you wouldn’t be complaining." How condescending and unprofessional! It’s clear Mason doesn't know how to handle customer complaints and doesn’t care about the experience of his diners. To top it all off, we were seated right next to the bar, with a 1-year-old baby. We were told we could not move seats because "this is your spot," despite the fact it was extremely noisy and uncomfortable for a small child. The staff even had the nerve to tell us, "Please make sure your baby doesn’t walk around"—absolutely absurd. We didn’t even receive any sort of apology or discount for all the trouble we went through. The entire experience was a joke. Terrible food, terrible service, and an owner who clearly has no idea how to treat customers. Save your time and money. This place...

The menu at Rumi Persian Restaurant is a culinary journey that showcases the rich flavors and vibrant spices of Persian cuisine. Every dish I tried was a true masterpiece, bursting with authentic flavors that delighted my taste buds. The attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients were evident in every bite, and it's clear that the chefs here are passionate about their craft.
One standout dish that I highly recommend is the Saffron Chicken Kebab. The chicken was perfectly grilled, tender, and infused with the delicate aroma of saffron. Accompanied by fragrant basmati rice and a medley of grilled vegetables, it was a symphony of flavors that left me craving for more.
