The worst experience our group of 7 have ever had- AVOID THIS PLACE!!!
We went to this place with a group of 7, and we left starving despite the amount money we ended up paying. So disappointing!
The owners of the restaurant bribe people by offering a 10% discount if they give a 5 star rating on Google. This clearly shows how incompetent they are and that the reviews are not genuine. Majority of the 5 star rated reviews have fake profiles as evident if you scroll through them.
The food was not traditional as it claims to be on its website. I am from Melbourne and we went to this place because of the website. The website displays that the "restaurant" offers traditional Turkish food. This is false advertising. The type of food it offers is no where near authentic/ traditional Turkish cuisine. The images on your website are misleading.
This place is extremely overpriced and the quality of the food does not correlate with the amount being charged. You will be better off eating KFC or Mc Donalds the night. Not only will you save your taste buds- you will also save heaps of money in your pocket.
The waiter gave us a "complimentary" tomato soup. Oh my, where do I begin. The soup was freezing cold and it was so tasteless. The soup or shall I say the tomato sauce in the bowl- not even kidding that was not soup it was literally as though there was tomato sauce put into the bowl. To add, they charged us all 1 cents each on the receipt for this complimentary soup they claimed to give us. Not that I care as its only 7 cents for 7 of us its frustrating that they use this tactic to add any extra cent to your bill.
Some of us ended up ordering Manti. The topping of the Manti had tomato sauce. This is not the way manti is made. We could not even finish what we ordered and the waitress knew how disappointed we are and did not try to rectify any of this.
The waitress claims that the restaurant is "fine dining". Perhaps the management have no understanding about what fine dining cuisine is. This place is not only far from traditional Turkish cuisine, it is also far from fine dining I am afraid.
Who in their right mind charges $5 for like 5-6 pieces of bread in a bucket? "Traditional" Turkish restaurants always provide bread for free as that is what adds to the uniqueness of a traditional Turkish restaurant.
No discount offered. No change of meal offered. So far from a traditional Turkish restaurant or a fine dining restaurant... I could go on for much longer about how disappointing this place is but I am sure this review is enough for someone to avoid this place and this is why I am ending this review here.
Attached is the image on their website vs the manti I received covered all over in...
Read moreVery disappointed ☹️ We walked past this quaint little place during the day and chatted to a member of staff (possibly owner/manager). He told us about the menu and we we decided to book for our evening meal. We had four 17 year olds in tow and they were looking forward to the “special”, which I think was named Akana (?) Kebab - a minced meat type thing on metal skewers. We had two orders of those (29.90 each) - very expensive for the very small amount of food. It was served with some Turkish pita bread and very small amount of red onion. No salad or vegetables to be seen. For that price I definitely would have expected more. We also had the lamb cutlets with eggplant purée ($34.90!!). Again no salad or sides came with this. Unexpected for the price. Another of our group had the Sizzling Koftas with Camembert cheese and once again came with a side of red onion (and again $29.90). Most disappointing of all, however, was the gozleme. One of our group asked for the Turkish pizza which he was told was no longer available but was advised that the gozleme was every bit as delicious and similar to the pizza. So he ordered that ... what came out was a tiny portion (5 very small little slices) of spinach (and barely noticeable cheese) gozleme. Not enough to fill a 5 year old, never mind a 17 year old boy!! And nothing like a pizza. He was pretty ravenous when he’d finished his “meal”. All in all a very expensive night out for not a lot of food. The service was great, though, and the staff were really attentive so the three stars are for them! We did tell the waitress that we were disappointed at the portion sizes and that we would have expected some salads, etc to be served with the meat. I assumed she’d pass this information to the manager but we didn’t hear anything else, even though we sat on for a while to finish our wine. Disappointing, given the huge choice of restaurants in...
Read moreBroadbeach is undeniably a great spot, the weather last night was superb and it was great to be out with family. I mention these things to temper an otherwise overwhelmingly negative review. Alachti did their level best to ruin our evening. Kudos to them for a thoroughly unpleasant experience. Clearly the venerable Lola mentioned so favourably in other reviews was missing last night. As was the raved over exemplary customer service. Our waitresses inflated self esteem allowed her to barge up to our table and start talking over our conversation three times. Bread, merely needing toasting, is harder to make, it seems, than any other dish and therefore can't arrive with the dip - in fact it arrived last after being chased up. Slow service, a refusal to provide us with food menus until after we'd chosen drinks, which then arrived with one missing. A very weird and not a little suspect insistence that we pay cash despite EFT facilities and COVID dictating contactless payments. She refused for some time to accept our discount voucher based on non-existent conditions and yelled after us as we left. All this for uninspiring, somewhat bland food, skimpy in proportions and priced excessively. A hard...
