My father is a sick man...it’s been months since he hasn’t stepped out with me..
The nurse that comes to see him weekly complained about how hard it is to find parking because of how good the coffee shop in the building is and as coffee lovers I convinced dad to step out with me for the first time in months to get a cup of coffee.
On the way there I realised I didn’t know where I was going.. I saw a jolly young man with a kind face and a spring in his step and I quickly asked him if he knew where this coffee shop was which surprisingly ended up being one of the owners who led us to the entrance..
My goodness the decor is the first thing that catches your eye. So inviting and modern. Mind you my dad was loving the fact that the staff were giving him the time of day (my father is very old school and was very impressed)
I worked in hospitality most of my life so I always enjoy sussing out the service and presentation.. We reached the front counter.. the presentation of the food was something else.. the food looks unreal.. my gosh.. thinking back on it now makes my mouth water
As my father is sick he is on a strict diet.. so the gorgeous young lady serving behind the counter (with exceptional laminated eyebrows may I add) went out of her way to ask the cook if he could make a special order for my father. Now I know how annoying this is in the morning rush but she was kind and the young ninjas in the kitchen agreed without rolling their eyes or shaking their heads..
One of the cooks actually brought us the food and I thanked him and he said they always try to do the best for their customers.. my dad struggles with English but I swear I saw him smile lol
I’m not exaggerating when I say that was the BEST coffee I have EVER had in my life. Like there are no words to describe the magic in that cup you just seriously need to try it for yourself. I didn’t want to finish it..
One of the owners came and collected our plates and .. wait for it on the way out he got up from his table and shook my old man’s hand.. my dad felt like a king 😂 he hasn’t stopped talking about it since we got home.
Honestly guys thank you so much for the service.. you guys gave my dad the most amount of happiness he’s had in months.. the coffee is out of this world.. you guys really deserve a to be recognised! I have already and will keep continuing to spread...
Read moreWe visited Side Piece Coffee yesterday morning, and it’s quickly become one of our favourite spots in Varsity Lakes. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for dining in or grabbing a takeaway too.
We ordered the smashed avo and a deli-style salad toastie (Big Sandwich), both of which were fresh, packed with flavour, and generously portioned—an excellent choice for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Their coffee, made with freshly roasted beans, was easily some of the best we’ve had on the Gold Coast.
The price is reasonable, and you get great value for what you pay—definitely among the best options for those looking for quality at the lowest price possible. If you’re a dog owner, you’ll be happy to know this place is pet-friendly, making it ideal for morning catch-ups or casual walk over Lake Orr. Highly recommend Side Peace Coffee for its great food, friendly service, and...
Read moreOn Friday last week me and my partner were so excited to try this cafe after moving to the area. We were greeted with terrible service, lack of enthusiasm and 2 options on the drink menu weren’t available and the guy serving was not prompt or helpful with giving alternative options. It was very quiet but took 20mins for our 2x toasties to come out. Atmosphere was very dull, gloomy, lacked life. The staff looked miserable, almost like a smile costed a million dollars that day from the barista and gentlemen serving. Very disappointing as the social media on this place looked so exciting and was hoping to make this our daily local. I must give credit that the food was quality and delicious. Happy to give further...
