Sorrento Seafoods — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Well what the hell is going on down there at Sorrento Seafood? Has there been a change of ownership please let me know as we have been ordering here for the past six years. I have not been there for quite awhile but today’s order was $62 and calamari was a size of a $.10 piece was shrivelled up. There was nothing inside the coconut prawns. It was all batter and coconut chips were Somebody else’s or had come out of. I don’t know where but we’re so dehydrated. They were just terrible little fries 🍟 worse than Maccas chips actually overall totally disappointed with what I’m used to getting from here, Please let me know if you are a new owner or if you change suppliers and please change the oil was absolutely terrible needs to be changed, please reply to me and let me know what has happened to your usual standard because today it was horrid not happy...

We stopped by here for lunch for some fish and chips. I have never tried fish and chips before while my husband only had it before in the States. We were here with two friends who live here in Brisbane and used to work at a fish and chips place. We all love it! Everything was so fresh! It took about 10 minutes for the food to be ready. Our friends said that is also how you know it is fresh because if it was frozen, it would only take about 3 to 4 minutes. On top of that, the fish meat was so tender and it was not dry at all! It was hot, fresh and super crispy! We asked to have the chips with chicken salt and it was also amazing! Their potato scallops were also amazing! We ordered the Family Meal since there are four of us and we were all super full. Highly recommend this place for fish...

Sorrento Seafoods is one of those fish and chips restaurants that you can visit knowing you’re going to get some solid food that is fresh, packed with flavour and always consistent. Today our selection was the steak sandwich and The Works burger with added chips and a drink.

The food is very generous in serving and each element given its chance to shine. The ingredients are all fresh and I’m always impressed with the quality of bacon used. For me, the real standout was how well the egg was cooked, with the yolk achieving that perfect treacle consistency that didn’t explode everywhere but still had a pleasing run to it.
