The Island Cafe — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I have been coming to this cafe for years. During Covid and whilst I renovated my Bundall townhouse, Libby (the previous owner) and her team kept me fed and nourished. I had a particular salad I was fond of consuming and would often take away. One of the ingredients that gave this salad tremendous crunch and added to the delectable combination of flavours: toasted cashews and a fresh sprig of coriander. The place has changed hands and today I returned after being overseas and ordered the same salad. The menu is exactly the same. However prices have shot up and no more cashews on the salad or the fresh sprig if coriander. Very disappointing. Sad to see corners being cut. I...

Delicious food and coffee. Great customer service. Everybody is welcomed and the staff are friendly. “The boss” is lovely and cares about everyone who comes in.

The energy is great and it’s clearly a popular little spot!

They have perfected the meal sizes, too: just filling enough that you still have room for dessert 😋

Great location, with options to sit in the sun or shade. They also provide little blankets to keep you warm!

Only critique is the waitstaff could be a little bit more friendly and timely with clearing tables.

Nice place to eat. Friendly service, good tasting food, and priced what you'd expect for the area.

Only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is that the strawberries in the açai bowl still had the calyx fully attached, so you had to get your hands in to remove it (or just be happy with eating it). You could also tell there was a lot of banana mixed in as it wasn't the usual darker colour. It didn't phase me, but the granola had sultanas in it which my wife...
