If I could give 0 stars I would. I am absolutely appalled by just how terrible our time at the Aztec Broadbeach was. We booked a table because its school holidays and almost everywhere is absolutely packed. Not aztec. There were maybe 3 other tables other than us. The rest of the restaurant was empty. I now absolutely know why. The waitress took our drink order- fine, cool- and said she would come back for our food order..... she didnt. We waited and waited. The kids were starving!!! When she finally returned (about 20 mins after our drinks arrived) to take our order, we were informed that the jalapeño poppers were sold out and a table sat after us had just ordered the last lot. Then we ordered our food. Two lots of the starter taquitos, 2x tacos (each different) for 2 different children, cheese quesadillas for another child, nachos montezuma for the 4th child and my hubby & I were going to share the Aztec delight but I requested a addition of guacamole and jalapeños. We then sat.... some more... no one came to ask if we wanted another drink. No one came near us. FINALLY the Aztec delight came out and was COVERED in raw vegetables- raw broccoli, raw zucchini, raw radish. You name it, it was there raw! We double checked the menu and there is absolutely no mention of raw vegetables in the description. And this is the FURTHEST thing to a "Mexican salad". So I have absolutely no idea what they are trying to pass off. My hubby then had to chase them down for the guacamole and jalapeños because - yup, they did not come with the dish as requested. Then the kids food started arriving. The waitress brought out one lot of tacos and said "these are the two pork" so we gave them to the child that wanted two pork. Then she brought out the nachos, gave them to that child.. then she brought out the other two tacos "Oh actually these are the two pork- I was wrong with the other ones." !!!!!!!!! Luckily none of our children have allergies but what if they did? And she had served them the wrong food. Then our taquito starters finally arrived. To which I stated "oh look the starters are finally here" and the waitresses response was "OH are they starters?". Like, check your own menu!!!!! The last item to arrive was our last child's cheese quesadillas. Probably the easiest to make and it was disgusting!!! It was burnt and practically inedible. The whole meal was revolting and by far the worst Mexican I have ever had!!!! AND it cost $230. An absolute rip off for food that left two of my family members...

Have been here about five years ago and loved the place , I think it may have moved. Tonight I wanted to have some tacos and a couple of margaritas. When I got there about 830pm ish there was an empty booth and table and everything else was occupied. I looked at the menu board at the front that said wait here to be seated in bold large print that I definitely noticed. I read the whole menu while waiting . The staff were plating food and ignoring me. I kept waiting for well over ten minutes then rang a friend to ask what I should do and talked to him for about a minute . He said look at google reviews and probably go elsewhere. I was looking at google reviews when approached by the waitress ( after I had been standing there for fifteen minutes) she said she didn't approach me because I was on the phone. I said I was there for over ten minutes before using my phone.( a check of any cameras and every place like this has cameras will reveal how long I patiently reread the menu) By now I had lost interest in tacos but wanted a margarita . A male waiter also joined the conversation saying that they had not ignored me for fifteen minutes. But they had . Maybe its because I was alone. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough , Maybe they don't like fat old white guys , maybe it was late and they wanted to go home , whatever the reason I was pretty disappointed but still wanted a margarita and asked if I could sit at the bar and have a drink. I was offered a drinks menu but had been looking at the menu for fifteen minutes and knew I wanted a pineapple margarita. Sitting at the bar I watched the bar staff make it , blend it then do a heap of other things in the bar while it sat in the blender. Eventually she got a margarita glass from the dishwasher ( the stem was still hot) and served me my margarita. The margarita was fine with a sugared rim two straws cherry on side and tasted fine. I drank it then left.( I paid for it 18 dollars cash not card) We all have an off day even me sometime and everyone was polite and friendly when they did talk to me . The drink was fine maybe the food would have been too but as a tourist on the gold coast for a holiday I don't think I will...

I was brought here for a surprise birthday dinner and unfortunately, the combination of extremely poor service and the food and drinks taking forever to be served ruined my night.

Where to start - we ordered simple alcoholic drinks for everyone on our table along with some entrees. the drinks alone took over 30 minutes to be served, and they didnt even arive all at once. During this time period we didn't get any table service even though everyone was ready to order and the restaurant was not busy.

The staff were extremely blunt and rude the whole night, and we had to state our orders multiple times as there was a clear language barrier. The food took upwards of 45 minutes to be served ontop of the wait time for the drinks and having to find someone to take our order. One person at our table didn't receive their food with everyone else and had to wait an extra 15 minutes without anything before their food eventually was served.

After dinner, we asked if they could bring out a cake that we stored in their fridge. They dumped the cake on the font counter and didn't offer to help at all. We had to ask a for a lighter to light the candles, and they didn't provide a knife for us to cut the cake. My girlfriend had to prepare the cake and carry the cake to the table. I was disgusted as she has recently had a leg surgery and was very clearly limping and in pain. All staff that were standing behind the counter just stared at her the whole way to the table and didn't offer to help.

After we had finished with the cake, we went to find the box it came in so we could take the left overs home, and after asking one of the staff, they told us that they had thrown it out. They proceeded to dig the box out of the bin and hand it to us.

This restaurant unfortunately provided me with the worst service I have ever received. Because of this I will never be returning to eat here and will be making sure none of my family, friends or work assocaites go...

While I was back in Australia on leave I caught up with friends and they suggested The Aztec, I love Mexican food. The place is a bit small and was very busy on the Saturday knight we went. The food coming out of the kitchen looked great. We had a largish table and being so busy the staff did a pretty good job considering how busy they where to get most of our meals out at the same time. I had the burito and asked for extra spice and I got it, great burito. I also tried the Jalapeno Poppers again very tasty and spicy. A few of us had them and agreed they where great. Good food and service, might not go again on a busy Saturday night, but I would go back.

We ordered Uber from here and was a total disaster. The order were 4 items but they just cooked 3 so we received one less meal. I even said no olives in ok of them and obviously they didn’t even care. I called them to asked what happened and the guy who picked at the phone was so rude, just blaming Uber when was actually their fault when they passed the order to the kitchen. Besides that, food tasted liked it was stored for long time and just heated up. Chicken was the tasteless thing we’ve ever tried, hospital food is for far better than this. I definitely not coming or ordering from here anymore.
