La Porchetta Restaurant Broadbeach — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Absolutely terrible. Never had a customer service experience like I had at this restaurant, if you can call it one. No service at all and no consideration to how it feels to have the people who were next for the table standing there watching you, which only occurred because they had double book.

The evening started by being informed in a rude manner that they were busy tonight so be quick. After 5 mins of the table almost being full the owner/manager come over and told us we had to order now "we're busy". When people on the table couldn't decide they were told to hurry up. We then had a guest come late and she was told she had to order straight away. Our meals come and we're served at the same time which was good but as soon as anyone had finished the owner come over and took the plates, informing us we had to leave soon because the people standing behind us had our table. Our meals were cleared quickly and we were kicked out of the restaurant. To top off the evening when we went to pay we were ignored until they were ready take our money.

I understand they were busy but there is a certain level of customer service that is expected especially in and area that is a tourist hot spot and known for it restaurants. I will never return to this restaurant, I would rather starve then give the my money. Will never recommend this place to anyone.

I would however like to thank the girl inwich I spoke to as she handle the whole situation in an appropriate manner even though she wasn't a part of the problem.

Disappointing Service Despite Great Food

We recently dined here after selecting the restaurant largely due to the advertised 10% discount for guests staying at a nearby hotel. Unfortunately, that discount was not honoured which was disappointing given it was a deciding factor in choosing this restaurant for dinner.

While the food itself was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations, the overall experience was let down by the service provided by staff. Meals were placed on the table abruptly, lacking the care you’d expect in a hospitality setting. Despite requesting table water, it was never brought to us and we had to make multiple attempts to get the staffs attention just to ask for parmesan for our pasta which is something that should be offered as standard and staff were taking plates away prior to patrons finishing which is not hospitality etiquette.

What stood out even more was the inconsistency in service. We overheard and witnessed other patrons receiving far more attentive and polished service, with staff demonstrating proper hospitality etiquette that we unfortunately did not experience ourselves. This made our experience feel even more disappointing.

Party of 3 compared prices at 2 restaurants for same dish prior to choosing La Porchetta. When we got there the veal marsala was $7.60 more than what came up when checking the menu price before arriving. When questioned the manager said he couldn't do it for $34.90. He gave a few excuses: the website prices are 2 years old, it wasn't the right website for his restaurant, it's someone else's responsibility to change the website prices. I ordered the veal. The menu doesn't indicate whether sides are included in the price. When asked, the waiter said you get one side included so if you want the veal, chips and salad you pay an extra $4.90 bringing the cost of the meal to $47.40. When my friend asked to clarify this the waiter became impatient, raised his voice and repeated the same statement 4 times. When served, the food was very good. It was the service and pricing that ensures I don't need to eat there again. I'm very happy to pay for good food. What I can't stand is when businesses add extra prices to what's advertised. I just checked the receipt and realised that after all this unnecessary drama the cashier ended up charging me $42.90 - 40 cents more than the menu price! Check the price before...
