The Yorkie Rippa — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Food = 0 stars why? Didn’t even got to taste it because we never got served, went there for lunch but was rudely turned away by FOH saying all the tables are booked.

Service = 0 why? At least have reserved card on the table so we don’t sit down and wait to be served. Told to get off the table by FOH rudely, moved to another table, get off that one for the same reason and ultimately kicked out the door because we did not reserve a table

Atmosphere is fine

Can’t blame them because food might be very good but very limited staff and tables. But at least spare some coin and get some “reserved” cards

EDIT: Thanks Dennis & Leigh, it was 1300 - 1330 last Sunday (30/3/2025). I do not wish to have special treatment whatsoever, and absolutely do not want to cause headaches for your staff as I myself have been a FOH before. I will reserve a table next time when me and my gf crave English...

Service was good, I wanted a taste of England but I feel a little disappointed, maybe because it’s not my nan making the roast but the mini Yorkie and the large Yorkie was basically the same apart from I paid another $13 just to have a larger Yorkie… missing stuffing, peas, broccoli, mash? and many other items.. for the price of $32 it wasn’t really worth it. Half the Yorkie was full of spinach and some cute flowery things that nobody has ever seen in a roast dinner before. The green sauce was nice but it wasn’t as nice as OG mint sauce.. the roast potatoes were good. But again there was the same amount on the mini Yorkie like the carrots and beef.. The Yorkie itself wasn’t the best… the place is nice but out the way. Would only come again if they added extras and didn’t fill the Yorkie with spinach.. just get the mini...

Have been twice this week and the food is so delicious! As an English person I’m so happy to have found somewhere with a great Sunday roast! It was really busy but what can you expect on a Sunday afternoon? A sign of great food as the place was pumping!

I was unfortunate to sit next to the reviewer below mine ‘Sandi’ and listened to her complain and tell them how to cook a roast. She states she was unhappy with how loud the music was yet people on her table were singing! Just an old lady out to have a complain. The poor staff tried their best to keep them happy, offering more drinks etc. Take Sandi’s review with a pinch of salt and go try it for yourself!
