Nothing but praise for Noi and its a wonderful addition to Goulburn. I was very happy for some more variety when they opened and have continued to be nothing but ecstatic about the since. From the moment you walk through the door you are hit with the smell of heaven. The decor and atmosphere is warm and inviting. The stuff are amazing, always friendly and excited to see you. If you don't know what to get they lovley girls at the counter have given me great suggestions. Through their suggestions I took a tour of all the boba tea options and they where all delicious though the brown tiger milk tea is a favourite. Though a suggestion of the strawberry with whipped cream was a delight and a great drink to share with a friend.
Though due to Deitary restrictions my options are limited but their menu is filled with delicious looking meals that everytime I go in I must battle myself if the resulting reaction would be worth it. Judging by how good the beef pho taste it probably is.
When I first ordered the Pho I was touched that they came back out to double check what I could and couldn't have. Showing great consideration for their customers.
I've ordered both eat in, take away and delivery countless time and have never had a bad experience from them. The one time my delivery didn't have the alterations I needed they where very polite about the mix up and sorted it out instantly.
I often come to Noi after stressful and frustrating medical appointments and everytime they have helped chase way those negative emotions and bring back some cheer.
Highly recommended the best...
Read moreAs a Vietnamese, I find the food quite basic, ordinary and not made in the traditional way. The decor of the restaurant is very modern, vibrant and comfortable to sit down.
I am not a fan of beef noodle soup in a cardboard bowl. The porcelain bowl is also a bit small and the serving size for chicken noodle soup 🍜 is also smaller than expected. The part than annoyed me the most as they used hủ tiếu which is a different type of flat noodles to the standard phở noodles so it tasted a bit like glass noodles instead. The soup base however, was well made and had good flavours.
The stainless steel cups and chopsticks also look like those you would see in a Korean BBQ restaurant rather than a typical Vietnamese restaurant.
The broken rice with pork chops and the skewers tasted alright and ticked the box. It is basic and is missing pork skin shreds and steamed pork meatloaf but I guess if they are catering for non-Vietnamese customers those missing ingredients may have been counter-productive to their dish anyway as they may not be everyone's preference.
The iced matcha green tea and lychee drink (slide 6) are OK, just mostly ice though and didn't take long to finish.
In summary, they are still the best Vietnamese restaurant in Goulburn but are not comparable to even the bottom of the range Vietnamese restaurant in...
Read moreA hidden gem in Goulburn! We stopped by on our way back from Wollongong for an early dinner, not expecting to find such delicious authentic Vietnamese food on the road back to Canberra. We ordered the pho as the main dish and were not disappointed - it tasted like my grandma's homemade pho, cooked slowly over hours. The real test was that it didn't leave the typical dry/salty taste in your mouth that lots of Vietnamese restaurants do when lots of salt and MSG are added to the broth for instant flavour. We also tried the ice coffee which tasted like what you get back home and wasn't too sweet. What a treat! We are planning on coming back to Goulburn just to visit the restaurant and try other dishes! But I'd highly recommend Noi as a pit spot for those traveling the Sydney/Wollongong - Canberra route that want a proper wholesome meal (i.e. not the usual...
