Cleanliness: 5 stars This place is the cleanest café/restaurant I have ever been to. Tables are cleaned/wiped after each guest. Toilets are impeccably clean and in great condition. Staff/crew: 5 stars If I could add a star, I would. The crew here are always happy and extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much, or too little. There are always enough staff to manage the busy periods and even when it is packed, the waiting is never long. So, when I hear “There aren’t enough staff around” by some café/restaurant owners, well, take a hard look at this place, they always have enough, so it can be done. Food/coffees: 5 stars Just look at the selection! And that’s just what is visible in the display. Look up at the boards, and you have even more. Always fresh, always tasty. I have been here so many times, and I have NEVER been disappointed. Prices: 5 stars It’s very well priced and I feel I am getting excellent value. Atmosphere/comfort: 5 stars When you walk in on a cold winter’s day, you can take your jumper off and enjoy the warmth of the indoors seating. The advantage of a warm restaurant is that your food and coffee doesn’t go cold in 2 minutes. Well done and it is really appreciated. To all other cold/unheated restaurants: It can be done!! Location: 5 stars Recently relocated from a more central area in Goulburn, the new location is not as attractive as it doesn’t have a park opposite, but the building is stunning. The inside high ceiling and big windows letting in natural light are beautiful. So still a 5 star for me even if it isn’t as nice outside. Overall: 5 stars Well, what can I say, other than: "This place deserved extra stars". 5 just aren't enough in my opinion. You can come here time and time again, and never be disappointed. Even on a quiet lunchtime (midweek) they have a lot of people inside eating and enjoying a quiet coffee time with friends. That’s because it is comfortable, clean and, importantly, good food and drinks. I am certain that’s why many people choose Roses Café over any other option available, even if it means extra driving time to get here. Well done Roses, as far as I am concerned, you are my favourite of all cafes, and that’s why I will always divert from my travels for you. Richard

Goulburn used to be a town where it was hard to find a decent coffee but every time I visit there is a new cafe or eatery that has made Goulburn not just an inland icon but a foodie destination! The Roses cafe is set in a beautiful old heritage building that has been lovingly turned into an inviting and comfortable place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends. Walking into the sizeable dining space with its high ceilings and wooden floor boards gives the feeling of a traditional dance hall. There service area is at the back of the hall and you order at the counter. Meals are delivered to the table. There is a long display cabinet filled with sweet and savoury delicacies; there is so much to choose from and also board with menus items if you can’t find anything that tickles your fancy in the cabinet. I was feeling like something light on the day I visited and opted for the granola with fresh fruit and yogurt. It was delicious and I enjoyed every bite! The coffee was average on the day I visited. Perhaps more the preparation than the actual grind or origin. Too hot and very weak. But I hope this was anomaly and I would give it another go next time I am in town. Service is friendly and it’s nice to see they have invested in young locals as the bulk of their staff. Thanks Roses! I will definitely be back!

If you want to use disabled access you will need your compass because it's on the EAST SIDE, instead of having a simple arrow pointing the way ➡️. From the time of arrival we were welcomed by beautiful friendly helpful staff. Presentation of food for sale was immaculate and such high quality and VERY TEMPTING. Although my toast and bacon was overcooked, the rest was great The coffee is to die for, magnificent. Rest rooms are modern and clean. Sign on Men's is confusing and one I've never seen before, maybe catering for the confused or undecided genders. I had to stand with legs crossed while deciphering the signs. The building and decor has character, is old, inviting, but we'll maintained and clean. It's a bit noisy & could be loud when crowded. It's well worth a visit 👍

The food is decent and reasonably priced by all accounts.

The atmosphere is great but the large space can be a bit drafty near the front door (there's no airlock) with the fan also going above on a cool night. They likely have ventilation requirements nowadays though. It was lovely in the warm weather though and it wasn't unpleasant on a cold evening - just something to note if you're heading here. Maybe sit away from the door in a little corner nook somewhere if you feel the cold.

The service is fantastic and this locally owned family business is definitely worth a visit. I haven't been unable to get a table on any of our many visits either but there is always a decent crowd there. It has become one of Goulburn's best eateries.

There is food in the display fridges near the counter as well as a menu. They now serve alcoholic beverages as well as coffees and other great things. The dessert platter for two served our family of six to have a taste of each of the four desserts.

Great to book for High Tea for special occasions...
