This is a restaurant and a take away. We stopped here for lunch on a Saturday. It was very busy, which is always a good sign. We placed our order for 2 grilled snapper dinners. The fish was really good. It's not easy to find a place that does justice to seafood. The meal came with chips and a salad. The chips were tasty and were nice and crispy. We both had a salad, which was full of olives and feta. Both of which I love. The olives were too numerous and salty for me. Our meal cost $52 - not including drinks. Range of food- huge. (See the other reviews here). Check out the oysters and prawns. They were very tempting, as they looked amazingly fresh. Service: very fast and friendly. All the staff were absolutely wonderful and a huge asset to this business. Tables: plentiful, despite the rush. There is inside dining and outside in the fresh air. Parking: right out the front and around the area. No problems finding a slot. Child friendly- yes, I would say so. Amenities (toiles)- I didn't see any, but that's not to say they aren't there. In summary- definitely worth a visit. We were a bit surprised by the cost, but considering how lovely our food was, it seems good value. Most certainly when we are in the area again, we'll make a bee-line for this restaurant.

Quite often I will choose a place to eat based on how many people are waiting in line and when I saw the line up for Costa's on the weekend I had to pull over and see what the fuss was about. When I walked in I was greeted by bustling staff and an impressive selection of fresh seafood more so then what you see at your average fish and chip shop. The downfall of it being so busy was that it took a while to be served but once my order was taken it didn't take long for my number to be called. The staff were all very friendly and worked like clockwork behind the counter getting everything done as fast as they could. I just ordered a few peices of fish and a salad but I was very happy with the portion size on the salad, they put in some extra lemon for no charge, their sauce sizes were generous and the fish was cooked perfectly. I am extremely happy and will definitely stop in again if I am in the area

All the staff served us (the counter one taking an order, the one serving food and the one serving coffee) were impressively welcoming and helpful. Enjoyed our lunch. the veg burger was huge, filling and delicious. The Caesar salad was ok; its dressing was a little too sweet. The crumbed oysters were cooked freshly and perfectly. The sweet potato chip was nice and crisp (not oily). The smallest size of chips ($8.50) was still too big for 1 person (if you come alone), but the counter could offer a half portion on the smallest size which was very nice of her. We did go for the full size though for 2 pp. Our coffee was missing, but it was served not long after we had asked a staff. There is a clean toilet available in the shop.

Had been going to this place on a weekly basis getting takeaway grilled fish and chips. Ordered same over phone on Good Friday. When I went to collect my order I was told that there would be a 15% surcharge which I was not advised about when I placed my phone order. The total of my order seemed incorrect even after applying the 15% surcharge and the young girl serving me went and got one of the male owners/managers who advised that there was a 50c grilling fee for every piece of fish. I said that I had never been charged a grilling fee before and I had only just bought grilled fish from them 6 days ago and wasn't charged a 'grilling fee'. The young girl serving also commented that she didn't know about this fee. The owner/manager just walked away which I found to be very arrogant. I reluctantly paid for my order and noted that nowhere in the shop or on their takeaway menu was there any mention of a 50c grilling fee per piece of fish....highly illegal to charge a fee without advertising such fee...... I know it is ONLY 50c but it is the principal of the fact that it seemed to be a convenient "Good Friday" charge on top of the 15% surcharge that they conveniently failed to mention when placing my order. Worse yet the fish was way overcooked and rubbery and the chips were under-cooked when I specifically asked for 'well done' chips as I always do, because I learnt if you don't ask for them 'well done' they aren't crisp. Even though they will not miss my business each week of spending $50-$60 at a time, I want them to know that I will NOT be spending another cent at this place because of the attitude of the manager/owner and the poor quality of the...

Underwhelming. Heard many great things about this place, like the best fish and chips in Australia so we decided to take a 50min drive from Ipswich to try it out.

Ordered online the night before we arrived. This is a great time save during busy periods and a welcome feature. Scheduled a 1pm pick up. Arrived at 1230 and the place was absolutely packed. Hung back as the text I received said pick up anytime after 1pm.

Got to the counter at 1259. My order was in the hot box ready to go. I almost asked for the side salads that came with the meals, but realised they were in the containers that were in the hot box. Went right to the car and opened up the containers.

Chips were stone cold and unsalted. Frozen not hand cut . Salads were wilted and warm. Flake was crumbed and just warmish Cod was battered and just warmish

Tartare sauce and a wedge of lemon included. No cutlery, but there may have been some on the counter to pick up I'm not sure as I ducked out of the shop quickly to allow others in to order.

Portion size was small for the price. Two dinners came to $35.50. A dinner is piece of fish, very small portion of chips, a big salad, tartare sauce and wedge of lemon.

To say we were disappointed is an understatement. I get they were busy and juggling online and walk in orders can be tricky but it was all just such a let down.

Maybe go in, order and sit down in the restaurant area for a better experience. Don't order online like we did. I suspect our food was sitting there for a long time. Unfortunately we won't be going back. There are other places around Brisbane that provide better fresher and hotter food...

I thought this was a great place for seafood, I used to go there regularly for the tender calamari.. But this is Australia and unfortunately they fall down very badly in one of the menu items compulsory in a fish and chip shop .. The great Aussie potato scallop .. Costa's make the worst one I have eaten in my life and I'm 60yo so have tried a lot of them in my time (obviously these ones are pre packed frozen and probably imported) Really Costa's you don't deserve the best fish and chips award unless you can get your act together and make decent potato scallops... Try some at Wayne's takeaway in Wynnum .. these are the ones you should aspire to On my very last visit there I had ordered calamari, scallops and prawn cutlets for myself amounting to over $30 and asked if I could get my usual small $2.00 serve if chips to go with it, the young lady behind the counter told me they didn't do a small serve anymore and I would have to buy the large serve, I told her that was way more than I wanted or could eat and asked her if I could talk to the manager to see if it was possible .. this rude man shouted at me from across the shop 'WE DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE', so I asked why, he shouted back at me 'BECAUSE I SAID SO' tired his back on me and walked further away... I refuse to to pay my hard earned money to people who are not only rude to, but don't appreciate loyal customers.. so I cancelled my order and I will never set foot in Costa's seafood again.. if you do go there, don't waste your money on the...
