Oh, darlings, let us recount the extraordinary culinary adventure we embarked upon at the illustrious all-you-can-eat establishment, Jayliano’s Steak and Seafood restaurant. The decor, a mélange of rustic charm and metropolitan sophistication, sets a tone of high anticipation upon entry. But alas, as with all tales of opulence, there were a few errant notes that struck a dissonant chord.
First and foremost, I must implore the proprietors to adopt a more transparent approach regarding their pricing. The menu, while exquisite, lacked a certain clarity in terms of the cost. One found oneself adrift in a sea of uncertainty, navigating the nuances of their fee structure.
Furthermore, dear readers, a rather vexing situation arose when we attempted to divvy up the bill amongst our party. One might assume that in this modern age, the act of splitting a bill would be a seamless endeavor. Yet, we were met with a rather unyielding policy, which one can only describe as archaic.
And lo, a most bewildering revelation occurred post-repast. Our cherubic infant, who consumed nary a morsel beyond a mere nibble, was, to our astonishment, included in the bill! This, dear friends, was not disclosed during the reservation process, casting a pall over an otherwise delightful evening.
In summation, while Jayliano’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant offers a veritable cornucopia of delights, it is imperative that one navigates the murky waters of its policies with caution. One must remain ever vigilant, lest the evening’s enchantment be marred by unexpected...
Read moreWas better than I was expecting. Took my son out to dinner. He enjoyed the little octopus, mussels and chicken parma. I loved the steak, morrocan chicken and fish and calamari. They were delicious! I'm not much of a dessert person but was disappointed I didn't have much room left as they were also delicious, and different. The lychee and taro purple desert was so fresh. There were dishes that were a bit bland for my liking, but there were others I loved and they were refreshed often even though it was very busy. Staff were great. I appreciated the water was cold, and not room temperature. Sometimes it's the small things.
My only downside was it was very busy and very loud. We were seated near a large party of people who thought our table was theirs and we found them eating at it when we got back from getting food, even though we had been seated by staff there and they saw us sitting there before we got up to get food. Then while we were eating they crowded around our table. My son had a person's bottom less than 20cm from his face. I had to ask the group to please give us some space. It wasn't enjoyable and I was getting claustrophobic. We offered to move tables but the staff assured us we were at the right table. It was just loud and packed and they added extra chairs to their tables and it made it very hard to get up to the buffet. We were there until 9pm and it was getting a little quieter. I would try to go later next time. Overall, food and staff were great. Lines for food at peak times was fine. Just a bit loud...
Read moreGood selection of food and quite good quality however some members of staff could use some serious lessons in customer service.
Twice now on separate occasions I have been approached by the same staff member and told off for violations of restaurant policy.
The most recent was experience was being approached by this woman who came up behind myself and another gentleman and told quite sternly “there’s no consuming food around the buffet, is that clear”, both of us look confused and I replied “excuse me”? I was answered with I saw you and you put a chip in your mouth from your plate as you walked around and that won’t happen again”. I honestly didn’t know if this woman was serious or just had nothing better to do.
I’ve eaten at buffets for my entire adult life and never encountered something so ridiculous, I understand restaurants discourage picking food straight from buffet and eating we didn’t do that nor were we carving steak while we walked around and honestly this whole experience just felt absolutely ridiculous. Being spoken to like we were both 5 year olds didn’t help either.
I watched this woman follow many customers around through my time h there and heard similar remarks as I went back for food and all I could do was shake my head at the sheer ridiculousness of it all.
Does this member of staff have nothing better to do or could she perhaps learn how to speak to customers properly as honestly now after having 2 “experiences” with this woman I won’t be going back again nor will I recommend anyone else...
