Old Asian Morayfield — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

I’ve been a local in Morayfield for many years and have been coming to this restaurant since they opened when I was a teenager. In the last few years, the quality became so poor that I stopped coming here altogether. The sauces were bland, the meat and vegetables were not fresh tasting and the place was looking run down and dirty. I recently noticed the new signage and figured the place must be under new ownership so had a look at the reviews. With so many glowing reviews in the last couple of months, I thought we’d give it another shot. We ordered the combo noodle, special fried rice and honey chicken. The portions were decent sizes and did have a good amount of meat, the vegetables seemed fresher than last time we ate here too. However, the food was still very very bland. I remember in this places heyday, the combo noodle bowl used to have a delicious dark, rich sauce, but today’s sauce was thin, insipid and flavourless. The special fried rice was dry and bland too. My partner (who doesn’t consider themself a foodie by any stretch of the imagination) even thought it was bland and left most of the meal uneaten. The honey chicken was soggy and most of the honey had been soaked up by the fried noodles they were sitting on, so the chicken itself was flavourless too. Service wise, while they were quick, when we collected the food it felt like they just wanted us out of there. Minimal interaction and no ambience to be found. On further inspection, it seems like this place has been buying reviews. Let’s be clear - no one is driving one or 2 hours from their home for these noodles or buying 5 bowls to take home and freeze. I might have given 3 stars based on the generous portion sizes, but after seeing the fake reviews, I’ve taken...

I'm so impressed about this place, I be a chef for 17 years, and study alot of different cuisines and a personal favourite of my is Chinese, there is so many Chinese restaurants/takeaways that has dump down there food for the western culture tastebuds that I found out it pretty upsetting, so when I ordered uber eat and find this place, thought I give it a try, knowing that I most likely be disappointed straight away, like the rest of the restaurant around Morayfield/Caboolture area, I was shocked 🤗 I got the meatlover combination box, Didn't have anything to complain about, noodles great, sauce was amazing there was actually meat not all noodles, about time a Chinese dish that doesn't have capsicum in it, and the fried rice was great to so many restaurants get fried rice wrong, clearly this place use day before cooked rice of cooked cold rice on the day? not steamed hot rice straight into the wok, some nice (wok-hei)...

Old Asian Morayfield is an absolute gem in the area! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The menu offers a fantastic variety of traditional Chinese dishes, all made fresh and full of authentic flavors.

I tried the Mongolian beef, honey chicken, and special fried rice – and every dish was spot on. The meats were tender, the sauces perfectly balanced, and the portions generous. You can tell they use quality ingredients and care about consistency. The dumplings were also a highlight – juicy, flavorful, and clearly handmade.

Service was friendly and efficient, and despite the busy dinner rush, our food arrived quickly and piping hot. Whether you’re dining in or getting takeaway, Old Asian Morayfield delivers great value and taste every time.
