I had a very BAD experience at the Coffee Club Northlakes yesterday Sunday 19 October (Shop 1092 Westfield Shopping Centre Mango Hill QLD 4509). Staff managed to splatter a large amount of sauce all over us when tending to a table behind us. One second we were waiting for our lunch, next second we heard a loud noise and felt sauce flying all around us. My wife got sauce on her, I got a handful over my hair, shirt, pants. I felt a sticky blob sliding down the back of my shirt. The wall in front of me did not escape either. I understand accidents happen, was not happy with that at first but what followed really upset me. Staff were too focused on gathering their cutlery to be washed than to care about their freshly “decorated” customers. We had to really draw their attention to us to finally convince them that perhaps we, people, deserve more attention that knives and forks. “Really? Can’t you really see us?” I exclaimed. “It was just an accident”… staff said. I thought that was not that funny coming the staff. I think the customer could say something like “I am sure it was an accident”. Someone handed us a kitchen wipe. I was reluctant to use it on us as I thought it came from the kitchen. As we were left still cleaning up, I asked for who was in charge but then the manager did not do anything else better for us. I found her contribution to the incident disappointing at best. Another couple sitting at the next table said they would ask for compensation (a discount, one coffee on the house, or anything to show they care) if that was to happen to them. I told the neighbours we did not receive anything, but would like the manager to come and acknowledge what happened and apologise. I was expecting the manager to have the customers in mind and make us feel better.
Sadly, that did not happen.
To add to the irony, a young waiter came later asking “how is everything going” as if nothing just happened. That was unbelievable!! I saw no value in bringing er up to speed with the flying sauce incident. Instead, I explained the bacon in the salad was over fried beyond any known record and it literally shattered when I tapped the plate with it to demonstrate.
“I think we will skip the dessert” – my wife said. “We won’t come back again” – I added.
After all that and wearing all those sauce stains all over, we left to meet some people we had an appointment with. I can say we had to explain how we escaped the flaying sauce and almost un-noticed by Coffee Club staff… NOT...
Read moreHere I am a Sydney girl visiting my nephews. Decided to take them for lunch. We got in offered a table which wasn't clean yet there were so many free tables and we asked to sit on the booth seats with the kids... Thank God they said ok. We sat down looked at the menus no idea how their ordering system works, no table water provided but everyone else had table water. Stood up went to place an order, ordered for 5 people. 3 kids and 2 adults. Asked the rainbow makeup lady on the till/cashier for table water, finished placing my order for 5 didn't offer any sauces or alternatives with the meals. It felt really awkward asking as i wasn't aware of their ordering system. I went to sit down after ordering, she didn't stop me or tell me I had to pay. She literally watched me walking and sitting down. I noticed them whispering and looking at my family, then the manager approached us and asked me to stand and pay and stated he would not proceed with the order because i refused to pay. I explained to him that I was standing at the counter and the lady let me sit down his excuse "she was still processing the order" . At this time all faces were staring at the black lady with mixed kids and a white lady being accused of not paying for their food. The whole crew began laughing at his moment i decided not to be embarrassed further with my family and decided to take my hungry family elsewhere. No remorse, no apologies for the miscommunication. Simple customer service goes a long way. This by far was the worst experience of my...
Read moreAs a loyal customer and VIP cardholder, I have always enjoyed the experience at your establishment in North lakes Coffee Club. Unfortunately, my recent visit was a stark contrast to my previous experiences. My husband visited your coffee shop yesterday morning 22.01.25 and attempted to purchase a coffee using my VIP card. The barista on duty was extremely rude and unprofessional, refusing to honor the card and making several condescending remarks. I was shocked to hear of this incident, as I have never encountered such behavior at your coffee shop before. It is my understanding that VIP cards are personal to the individual and not transferable. However, I fail to see how this policy would apply to a married couple. Is it truly necessary for both spouses to carry separate VIP cards in order to enjoy the benefits of the program? Furthermore, after the manager was called to resolve the issue, the barista begrudgingly agreed to honor the VIP card. However, even though my husband was seated in the café, the coffee was served in a paper cup. To add insult to injury, the barista poured one coffee into two separate cups, which seemed like a petty and stingy act. I have always recommended your coffee shop to my friends and colleagues. However, given the unpleasant experience my husband had, I will no longer be patronizing your establishment and will advise my friends to do the same. I hope you will take this complaint seriously and take appropriate measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring...
