My son, granddaughter and I popped in Saturday 6th August for a lunch of Fish'n'Chips. WOW! What a gem of a place this is. We both had the Spanish Mackerel & Chips with Aioli. We each were presented with two above average size pieces of delicious Mackerel and just the right amount of chips (Many places go overboard on the chips and underboard on the fish). A couple came in just after we were given our meals and I pointed to my meal and said to the lady "This is the Spanish Mackerel serving and it's delicious" I guess that was a bit cheeky of me but I thought it worth sharing to another new customer to help her make a decision. Anyway, this will be my 'Go To' place for a take-away now!! Delicious, a decent serve size and a reasonable price!! (note: the pieces of fish were the same size, I broke one open for the photo to show how meaty it was)

Visited for Easter Good Friday, booked ahead, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had salmon, prawns, scallops, Ruby snapper. All of it was exceptionally well cooked, the prawns and scallops were a real standout. We'll definately return again. The seating was comfortable and plenty of options, we had elderly with us and we given seats as opposed to a bench seat. Toilets were clean and tidy. Parking was limited on site but a minute walk is a very large car park and a footpath along the restaurant. Also has wheelchair parking and access. The menu is small and they're all well presented and cooked. It works well. On our visit there were issues with payment but apart from the delay nothing excessive. The service was friendly, personalised and complimentary to the food. Plenty well thought out finishing touches throughout also.

The Rusty Old Boat is a great addition to Guildford. In the building that used to be Jezebel’s cafe, the fish and chips here is excellent. I loved how light the batter was on my Spanish Mackerel, a lot of chip shops around the area have a very heavy batter which doesn’t agree with me but I had no ill affects after eating at the Rusty Old Boat. Fish was super tasty, as were the massive Squid Rings. Chip portions are pretty generous too and the salad was also surprisingly well stocked with items other than lettuce! Enjoyable feed here and will definitely be back!

By far the best Fish and Chips in Perth that I have had. We also had the scallops, squid and prawns which were all fried to perfection. Not overly greasy and you don't get the taste of old oil that you get at many of the fish and chips shops.

They have different options for the type of fish depending on the day. Even their cheapest option was delicious, and you can definitely taste the difference if you decide to splurge for the more expensive fish.

Portion is not the largest and not your typical neighbourhood fish and chips pricing, but you are paying a premium for quality. Worth every cent though and will happily return whenever I am...
