As I ventured into the abyss of the buffet, my senses were assaulted by an overwhelming stench of mediocrity. The food, resembling a sad parade of culinary catastrophes, lay limp and lifeless under the dim glow of flickering fluorescent lights. Each dish seemed to vie for the title of most unappetizing, with colors that defied the natural spectrum and textures reminiscent of a failed science experiment. The sushi bar, a wasteland of wilted chopped fish and desiccated rice, offered a bleak glimpse into the depths of culinary neglect. But the horror didn't end there. As I dared to sample the entrees, I was greeted by a cacophony of flavors that defied logic and reason. The chicken, once perhaps poultry but now a mere shadow of its former self, exuded a peculiar odor that could only be described as existential dread. The pasta, drowning in a sea of bland sauce, clung desperately to the plate in a futile attempt to escape its inevitable fate. And the service? Ah, where to begin? With the grace of a wounded gazelle, the waitstaff stumbled through the dining room, their eyes devoid of all hope and purpose. Plates were whisked away with all the finesse of a bulldozer, leaving behind a trail of shattered dreams and forgotten appetites. And let us not forget the pièce de résistance—the single bottle of water, offered with all the pomp and circumstance of a royal decree, only to vanish into the ether, leaving behind a sense of profound confusion and thirst. In conclusion, the buffet experience was a harrowing journey into the heart of culinary darkness, a testament to the boundless depths of human indifference. If ever there was a cautionary tale against the perils of mediocre dining, this would...

It’s a pleasant enough restaurant. The decor is a bit passé circa year 2000, but no doubt they’ll update it one day. The menu is rather bland as well with fairly conventional dishes on offer, much like a mid range pub. But, the surprising thing is that the food is pretty good albeit expensive. We shared a calamari to start which was nice and tender and well cooked. I had the pork cutlet for a main and that was very good too. It was a decent size, well presented and very tasty on a bed of mash with a lovely sauce. Our stand out triumph though is an unusual one, some char grilled broccoli as a side. This was a generous size and absolutely perfectly cooked. I’m not sure that I’ve had a better char grilled vegetable anywhere. The process improved the taste of the vegetable markedly - it was utterly delicious - and thrillingly, it wasn’t over cooked in the slightest. On the contrary, it had that little bit of give that makes vegetables all the more satisfying. The service was charming from a number of young people tonight but a little uneven throughout, eg we weren’t asked for our drink choices before the main dishes were ordered and we had to ask ourselves. That meant we got the drinks over half way through our dishes which is less than optimal. But you couldn’t fault the manners of the staff. They were all lovely and...

Unfortunately, our experience here was extremely disappointing and completely ruined what was meant to be a special holiday.

We had just come from swimming and stopped in for lunch, wearing swimmers and a skirt. I was told I needed to go back to my hotel to put on a top before I could eat — which I would completely understand if this was a fine dining restaurant, but it’s right next to a pool it’s literally called pool Terrace with guests in bikinis right opposite us eating and birds flying around the tables. By the time I got back, our food had already been served and was cold.

Within a few hours of eating, both my partner and I became extremely unwell with what appears to be food poisoning. We have been bedridden for days and it has completely ruined our time on Hamilton Island after spending thousands of dollars to be here.

It’s really disappointing because we were so looking forward to dining here, especially after seeing all the positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite — cold food, unsanitary conditions with birds all over the tables, and both of us becoming very sick shortly after eating.

I truly hope management takes this seriously to ensure no one else goes through what we did after spending thousands to be here it was extremely disappointing to spend our days the...

As a vegetarian, it's often a challenge to find a variety of options on the food menu. However, my recent experience at Pool Terrace was a delightful surprise. I requested a specific vegetarian dish - pesto pasta, and the chef graciously accommodated my request. The pasta was cooked to perfection, with the right balance of flavors. The pesto sauce was rich and creamy, and the pasta was al dente, just the way I like it. The dish was not only visually appealing but also a treat to the taste buds. I appreciate the chef's effort in catering to my dietary preferences and creating a dish that was absolutely delicious. It's not every day that you come across a restaurant that goes the extra mile to ensure their customers' satisfaction. I highly recommend Pool Terrace to all vegetarians out there looking for a place that offers a variety of tasty options. Their willingness to customize dishes according to customer preferences is truly commendable. Thank you, Pool Terrace, for a memorable dining experience. I look forward to visiting again soon.

The buffet breakfast was great. So much food to choose from. The lunch and dinner items are pricey, but you expect that from a tourist destination. My partner and i had the prawn linguine for dinner, she couldn't eat it due to the excess heat of the chilli. Lucky me. The only friendly staff member we came across over the 5 days on the Island was a gentleman named Paul. He was the only one who asked how the meal was and how our stay had been. Thankyou Paul. They have a great pool alongside the restaurant. This one you can do laps in. Most of the others you couldn't. Make sure you wear goggles to avoid the burn on your eyes from the chlorine. There is so many cockatoos that hang around on the rails between the pool and the restaurant. These poor buggers are catching illnesses from eating food that is left on the tables, or people giving it to them.
