Reef View Lounge — Restaurant in Hamilton Island

I don’t even want to give 1 star. Ordered a beer that took 10mins and ended up at somebody else's table. Then went to the toilet and they had cleared the popcorn chicken(the chicken was 10/10) i paid $28 for and was still eating. Then i saw the staff give the cut me off sign after 3 drinks. After that i then had a staff member come and close the door on me, secluding me from inside. I will attach pictures. This is an adult bar. To be treat in such a manner is really not okay. U also did it to lovely some ladies outside who also expressed how weird and unwelcoming it was, and they were there 20mins. Be better and do better please. I won’t be back to Hamilton after this sadly. Also a warning. This island has price discrepancies. I’ve been here a week and have found multiple venders selling the same stock and different prices. Unfortunately, poorly mixed cocktails and below quality food offerings.

After having a bad cocktail experience in the main restaurant at the reef view, I decided to give the lounge a try, although I didn’t want to order one of the “house cocktails” as that is what was made poorly for me the night prior. I asked for a simple vodka martini with kettle one citrus vodka (they only have that, absolute vanilla, and Smirnoff… and who wants Smirnoff?). The martini was watered down to a point where the taste was off, and I’m not even sure if they added vermouth at all.

We also had the burger (lower than airplane quality) and the club sandwich (not bad at all, but I took off the quite fatty ham which was served on the sandwich).

Just stick to wine and beer here, or perhaps straight up liquor. Don’t get them involved in mixology or you’ll be sorry. Staff was kind and...

Manager was extremely skilled to deal with unruly behaviour by other guests. I was peacefully having a late afternoon drinking, reading my book, music was nice, food was good. At some point, some football fans asked me if I minded if they raised the volume of the TV to watch the game. I was right beside the TV, which was muted, and I said I did mind. This unleashed the most hateful disrespectful unruly behaviour by them, telling me to leave the lounge, putting the sound of the TV on their phone just to irritate me, and even threatening me. At some point the manager discretely intervened, moving them to another side of the lounge, closer to a second TV, where they could watch the game, leaving me alone.
