A decent shabu restuarant overall with Vegan option, with lot of potential for the improvement.
My family of 5 went for dinner dine in on Saturday, 5:30pm first session. Started with vege, beef and seafood plates one each. Ended up adding more sides.
There are 6 tables with one shabu pot/induction set on each table.
Pros: decent shabu dine in place for 2 people flexible with booking time change as long as the sessions are avail. hall serve person/manager was highly attentive and helpful with adding orders and choice guides, flexible in adding orders. 4 types of soup base to choose from, unlimitted refill for the soup it said Vegan friendly if vegans book for seperate table due to one shared pot/soup base and tongs. Tom yum soup for Vegan with vege plate(tofu) is good choice for one vegan person.
Strongly recommends: Pre booking essential, as many good restaurants were all booked for the dinner. Book for the earliest session for dine in as most of the plate/ingredient prep & serve can be somewhat slow compared to other fast cycle shabu shops, I'm from Sydney. Tom-yum soup base was good for the seafood plate, pork-bone soup base was bland and I dont recommend. each plate choice says 12 ppl but to my heavy eating family it was 0.30.5 portion. my Vegan wife enjoyed her vege plate in full portion and taste. If you aim to enjoy shabu as a side for the casual drinks (wine/beer/etc), it will be good ok. If you have group of 4 or above, and if you wish to continously feed your group instead of waiting idle for the ingredients, Book tables per 2 people so you can have more than 1 pot for your group. They might not give you 2 tables if you book one session for your group.
I would give 5/5 if manager gave us 2 tables when i requested, since table is not suitable for 5 pp. there was vacant table for one hour. also, the shabu ingredients could be served...
Read moreCame with my family and ordered the miso soup along with the seafood platter which consisted of scallops, shrimps, salmon, squid as well as a good variety of vegetables. The platter also came with potato noodles. The soup was unlimited and when cooked with the seafood had a magnificent combination of the taste of seafood and miso soup which was perfect for the cold weather. Along with the miso soup hotpot, it also came with a good variety of grilled meats as well. We ordered the marinated pork belly and the marinated wagyu beef as well. Both were absolutely delicious and along with the amazing service was an experience that was unforgettable. If you are planning to ever come pay a visit to this restaurant, this is an extremely recommended spot. You surely...
Read moreMy daughter wanted to go here for her birthday, so who was I to object? Some of us were familiar with the concept, and others complete noobs. The guy serving us explained everything exceptionally well, and had great English for the old racist we had with us (sorry Grandma). We all went with the miso broth so we could all compare apples with apples, and all three tables agreed that it was super tasty, even the one that won’t eat anything but Aussie cuisine (I actually legit don’t know what Aussie cuisine is apart from meat pies, but that fits with the sister in law’s diet). Plenty of stock refills, good value for money, and the beers were cold (love the lucky Buddha bottle). We’ll be back for sure....
