The synagogue is the oldest synagogue building in Australia and is a rare example of the Egyptian Revival style of synagogue architecture. The Egyptian Revival building was constructed in 1845.

27 years ago I was asked by Jewish tourists where the Synagogue was located.I went with them stepped in side and it changed my life completely .I was home at last and would never return to my former ways .Wonderful people Torah focused were patient with my questions .Thank God for those tourists. Went for an hour tour with a group of UTAS Students and ex UTAS lecturer. The tour guide was very experience and was talking at the tip of his finger ~ with detailed description and historical events of the Synagogue. To many of us it was indeed an amazing and memorable experience A...
