Atmosphere: The Husky Bakery in Huskisson, NSW, offers a cozy atmosphere, ideal for enjoying a pie. The simple decor and friendly ambiance create a comfortable setting for a casual dining experience.
(They also do alot of other tasty treats and food but I’m all about the pies this time)
Selection: While "The Husky Pie" is a standout, I chose the Beef Stroganoff pie. The Husky Bakery offers a decent variety of pies to suit different tastes. From traditional options to some creative twists, there's a fair selection available.
Crust and Pastry: The crust and pastry was decently executed, providing a satisfactory base for the filling. While not exceptional, they maintain a good balance of texture and flavor.
Meat: The Beef Stroganoff filling was flavorful, showcasing a decent blend of spices. The meat is tender, although the overall seasoning could be more pronounced.
Overall Taste (6.5/10): The pie offered an average taste experience, with a rating of 6.5/10. While it delivers on some aspects, such as tenderness and flavor, there's room for improvement in terms of overall balance and seasoning.
Service: The service at The Husky Bakery is friendly and efficient, contributing positively to the dining experience.
Value: Considering the quality and portion size, The Husky Bakery provides reasonable value for its pies.
In conclusion, The Husky Bakery offers an average pie experience receiving a 6.5/10 rating. While it has its strengths, such as friendly service and reasonable value, there are areas, like flavor balance and seasoning, where improvements could enhance the overall dining...
Read moreExtremely rude, spoken down on whilst ordering. The kelpie I had with me was my working scent dog hence why i was standing out the front with my partner inside. As a previous executive chef running a fine dining kitchen in Sydney, I have never dealt with someone so obnoxious and rude when dealing with customers. I was in the middle of telling my wife what i wanted when I was interrupted by your staff to move out of the way for 1 person that just turned up. Coffee was average, the coffee down the road was better. The vanilla slice was raw and inedible. I know sugar is a preserving agent but you cannot double the sugar content and expect the pastry (which was undercooked btw) to last several weeks. I thought this was a once off but from reading other posts you seem to have misplaced your cookbooks, replaced decent staff with donkeys. And charging people to microwave their pies? Like Really? Show your customers at least the basic respect of serving them a hot pie. Ps are you really microwaving them from the fridge cause you know you can't do that, any decent chef that will tell you that. Or are your storing them at room temp? Cause if that's the case it explains why you were quiet when your competition is flat out. Your loyal local clientele must of died from food poisoning. But congratulations on actually making me livid enough to write this review. Probably should shut down this place and just sell microwave from frozen big Ben pies cause clearly you're...
Read moreI'm changing my review from 5 stars to 0. They don't have a proper distinguishable place to line up and give your order. I was standing near the coffee machine where I earlier placed my order and had my coffee because I was going to get takeaway for family when a group of people walked up to the till on the left of the shop near the cakes so I let it slide and then someone behind the counter rocks up and asks who's next from the other till in front of the coffee machine and the guy lining up behind me tries to go in front and that's when I said whoa mate hold your horses.
It's a shamble mess. Have proper staff permanently on the till and have signage and get your staff to control customers because obviously the locals here are rude and think they have rite of passage.
Yes I am a snowflake and yes my feelings got hurt and no I won't be back because I'm going back...
