Read moreLocated on the outside of the big new Woolworths building, you can get really convenient free 90 minute parking in the undercover parking lot. Chubby boy has a big window style walk up counter where you need to order food and drinks. There is indoor seating and the interior is really light and bright. There is usually some outdoor seating too, but on my visit there was some construction going on outside so they packed away that area. You need to walk up to the counter to order, but food and drinks are delivered to your table. They serve muffins and croissants along with Japanese style Sando and Shokupan. It's like toast made out of thick cut soft white bread, served sweet (like french toast would be, but it's not French toast) with ice cream, syrup and other toppings like fruit or chocolate. There's quite a few things on the menu that aren't available like pancakes and Japanese cheese cake, it would be great if they could start making these too. Without them it's a bit limited. Maybe it was because half the seating area was closed that they weren't making everything on the menu, I don't know and the counter staff didn't mention. Overall the shokupan I got - strawberry and ricotta, was delicious. Little bit on the pricy side at $18, but satisfying...

Too many things went wrong…
Service 2/10 - While I was ordering, the cashier only gave me half her attention. She kept looking away or focusing on other things, which meant I had to repeat my order multiple times. On top of that, many tables were left dirty with the previous customers’ dishes still there—completely unattended.
Punctuality 0/10 - It was Sunday brunch, so I expected a wait of around 30 minutes. Instead, I waited 30 minutes just for an iced matcha pistachio. Then another 20 minutes passed before half of my food order arrived. By the time everything finally came out, the store was nearly empty. Absolutely appalling wait time.
Quality of Food 3/10 - The food was tasty. However, when pictures are shown on the menu, you’d expect the item to resemble the image. This was far from the case. When I asked whether I’d received the wrong order, I was told the drink had been changed. To put it into perspective: it was like ordering a Mercedes and receiving a Toyota. Both are nice, but I was sold a dream.
Would I recommend this place to anyone? Most...
