It was a real eye opener to see this pizza factory in full flight in a Saturday evening! I confess to being a pizza snob and not having a lot of experience with ASX listed franchised pizza outlets. However we had a crowd of kids over and a kitchen malaise we actually read those vouchers that are shoved in your mailbox and took the plunge with an online order.
The efficiency of ordering and the turnover time is remarkable. However it's only when you step inside the store that you can understand how this is achieved. It's a give of activity and computer screens and not a few stressed looking 14 year olds running the show. There is also a bevy of delivery peeps on E bikes outside.
But what about the pizza? I always get thin base and that was certainly satisfactory. However I am old enough to remember when there was truth in a large pizza. With a thin base, you will pretty much need a pizza for each person if you haven't got other items on the menu. The toppings menu is reasonably innovative but the reality is much the same as the difference between the attractive look of the burger in the tv and print ads versus what you get on your tray at the well known burger chain with yellow and red theme colours. So overall, it tastes ok but not more than that. And that's assuming it's eaten piping hot.
Would I do it again? Not in a hurry but no doubt circumstances will again arise whereby I go back to the...
Read moreOkay, so this is not a good review but I still gave them to many stars at one. The following is the reason. I ordered a take away pizza in store. On the door, right next to the handle is a large sign that says very close to "please wait outside, at least 2meters from the door, and wait until you are called". So I ordered and went outside and waited, and waited, and waited. After quite a long time I went back in to enquire if there was any difficulty and was handed the pizzas! That of course made me ask why the sign if people were not going to be called. This obviously outlandish question was met with raised eyebrows when I pointed out there were other people waiting to be called. Total distain and disrespect from the staff, it was obvious they did not care. The wait outside also gave me time to just look at the shop. It looked like it needed a total steam clean. The outside was grubby, the windows perhaps had not been cleaned since opening. There was a stainless steel roller in the window, not being used, which was covered with traces of pastry smeared on its surface. Some of the staff looked like they needed a wash too. Seriously Dominos, get your act together, train your staff with process and clean the place. And, tell them not to raise eyebrows when asked a...
Read moreAfter the order was placed, I was phoned and told that they no longer do cheese volcanos and then was charged an additional $12 in store to replace with melts, that weren’t even cooked properly.
Chicken on the pizzas was raw, while other pizzas were burnt. Additionally, the store was filthy. Chicken, sausage and cheese were all cross contaminated, in clear view for customers to see. We couldn’t even walk through the entrance as all their bikes were parked in the walkway.
It was evident that staff did not undertake any of the food checks implemented by Dominos.
We then also had to wait in store 40 minutes past the time that the tracker said it was ready.
On top of that, the customer service was non existent. Manager refuses to refund the money, told us to we needed to dig through our bin to bring back every single piece of food for him to inspect, so he could then store in his freezer so someone could collect it and take to a lab to check if it’s raw, because that’s the “legal process”? Absolute joke of an establishment and should be shut down.
After spending nearly $100, and not being able to eat the food, we were offered one pizza voucher to “rectify”...
