🌟 A Weekend to #Remember - I’d been #wanting to check out this place for a while, and Saturday night finally turned out to be the perfect night for it. I took Bo with me, and together we set off on a little culinary adventure to #Kathmandu Kitchen — an authentic #Nepalese & #Tibetan restaurant in Kingscliff. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm #smiles, the kind of genuine #greeting that makes you feel instantly at #home. For our #entrée, we shared a Trio of #dips with sambal — bold, vibrant, and full of flavour, like the opening notes to a #beautiful song. Then came the mains: 🔥 KHASIKO MASU (Himalayan Lamb Korma) — #tender, rich, and comforting, with spices that #carried us on a #journey straight to the heart of the Himalayas. 🌱 MISMASKO TARKARI (Vegan) — #wholesome, colourful, and #nourishing, a dish that reminded us how simple ingredients can become something truly extraordinary. Every bite felt like a #story — a taste of #culture, #tradition, and #adventure woven together on a plate. And just as the evening came to a close, the chef himself, Chef Shrestha, came out to say g’day, checking in on us and #wishing us a safe trip back. That small #act of kindness sealed the night as unforgettable. If you ever find yourself in #Kingscliff, this isn’t just a place to eat — it’s an experience, a journey of #flavours and #warmth. 🌏✨ We’ll definitely be back. 🙏🏾🍴 Thank you, Chef Shrestha!

We are at Blues Festival and sat next to Santish, Who happens to be the chef/owner of Kathmandu Kitchen. He had the most delicious meal and we asked which stall this was from. He said he brought it in. Then he opened his backpack and retrieved a lamb curry with rice and a tandoori chicken salad with coriander . He offered this to us and luckily he didn’t take it back 😅. The food was absolutely delicious. We must visit the restaurant to get more of it. Thank you so much again, Santish. You are very generous and it was such a pleasure to meet you. Christiane and Garry

Probably the best place in town if you are a curry fan, get them hot + some sambol. We went twice, first getting the mixed starter, prawn curry and lamb komra, 2nd time we got the beef vindaloo, chicken masu and the duck curry. The starters are good but I just think more curry is better value. The Lamb is a must try + the duck and prawn curry also come with a good amount of veg if you are after that as well. Seems likely that all the curries are just as delicious as the ones we tried, cannot go wrong here. 👍

Very disappointing. I have frequented this restaurant several times, but not for 9 or 10 years. Previously it was very good, so I was looking forward to eating here again. There were a few unreserved tables, we were seated and our orders taken promptly. There appeared to be 4 or 5 floor staff, about 6 seated couples and two small groups. Just after one hour, our rice came out, a few minutes later, our samosa entree. Some time later, as it was cooling, the rice was taken away, "sorry, it came out too soon". Ten minutes later, I called one of the staff to pay our bill and cancel the rest of the order. The waitress was sympathetic, apologized that our order had gone to another table and our order was on it's way if we could wait. I ordered a second drink. Five minutes later our rice came out again and our papadams. Five minutes later, the table next to us, who had been waiting longer, was served. Finally our mismako takari, a vegan coconut curry came out. The flavour was good but it had a distinctly meaty flavour. My partner suggested it was the mushrooms, but on a second mouthful we both determined it had duck meat in it, not very vegan. The table next to us overheard us and said their duck dish was very void of duck. We called the wait staff over again to say we were through and didn't want to wait for the meal to be corrected. She was once again apologetic and charged us for the entree and one of my two beers. We noticed other patrons leaving after waiting a while. Hopefully this was just caused by a shortage of kitchen staff or similar and this is not now the standard for what was once a great dining experience. We went to the pub and had very good fish tacos and only had to...

We have been coming here for the past year. The most amazing chef and food. We travel over an hour to dine here. I’m hesitant in posting this but feel the need to share our experience. We came in for dinner right on opening. We ordered within five minutes of being seated. . We have young children so we wanted an early dinner as we have a long drive home. After ordering we noticed three take away orders had been fulfilled as well as another diner who had arrived after we ordered. I’m not sure if the wait staff forgot to process our order but we waited over an hour for our food when we were the first to arrive. After questioning the staff when our food will be served. They said seafood dishes take longer. Which isn’t really the case because this is the only dish I order. This is the first bad experience. I can let it slide normally but to top it off I got home and started throwing up my dinner. I’m not one to complain as this has been my favourite place to dine till now. There were different staff on who I’ve never seen before. I have a you four month old baby and a five year old. We wanted an early evening and we got delayed dinner and...
