The good: the lady who served us was very nice and knowledgeable. The space is lovely, the bar upstairs is very nicely built and the outside upstairs deck is lovely. The not so good: the owners are sitting at the bar and actually aren't overly hospitable people. The bar itself is a nursery/glassware store/bottle shop/furniture store. Seeing this beautiful building used as an unsuitable furniture space on the lower level is a shame. I guess covid has knocked it around which is understandable, however the multi use takes away from it rather than adds in this case. Read more(August 2014) Ambitious effort. 17 taps in a country town of 6,000 odd people seems like a tall order but Kyneton has some decent form when it comes to all things epicurean. Still early days for these guys and they were all over the shop managing the food (seemed overwhelmed). The tap list is a little pedestrian by Australia’s rapidly improving standards but still some gems like Hargreaves Hill BA stout, Murray’s Punk Monk and Boat Rocker Hop Bomb.
