Shingle Inn Grand Plaza — Restaurant in Logan City

Very disappointed and felt insulted by condescending young table waiter, Urfan. My partner ordered 2 bacon and egg rolls and 2 serves of chips, as well as our latte’s. I heard him give the correct order. So, we received a serving for only one person. We waited for ten minutes to receive the rest of the order but it did not arrive. I asked where the rest of the order was and a rude young man came to the table and insisted we were wrong as the receipt stated only one serve was ordered. He argued and insisted we were wrong. There was no understanding or pleasant customer service. He said “It’s your fault! You should have checked your receipt to see if your order was correct!” And I told him he should not disrespect or speak to his customers like that. He then said “I know Ma’m”….. but he stood his ground anyway. We asked for another meal to come for me, and then he only delivered half the meal. Coffee was beautiful and food was good, but just a little too expensive for what you got. We won’t be going back there as this table waiter was so disrespectful and rude. Attended The Shingle Inn for an impromptu High Tea. For a quick preparation, shopping centre offering, I quite enjoyed it! It was just enough quantity wise and the price point was reasonable. Certainly was not expecting the quality or quantity of The Windsor Hotel (in Melbourne). The real let down was the staff. Our waitress was either very inexperienced or simply didn’t care. The towers came out (there were 2 of us) minutes apart. I attempted to ask the waitress a question but she scuttled off. We asked about the teas that accompanied the HT and she was so apathetic about it all. You’d think having ‘tea’ in a ‘high tea’ would suggest tea would be served? The worst experience I ever had in my entire life. The guy (I suppose he’s the owner) was very rude! If I can give — stars I would’ve. We dined in this arvo for coffee and scones after school pick up and we bought maccas for the kids. We weren’t told that outside food is not allowed when we ordered our food . The guy told us in our face to leave (not in a good manner but in a very rude way of saying it) he then mentioned that outside food is not allowed and it’s too much cleaning up. I would understand if he had talk to us kindly and we’ll leave without a problem if that’s their policy. But there was no sign or anything telling us otherwise.
