We recently took drive to Lorne (Jan. 2023) and visited bakery for late lunch & refreshments. Eventually got served even though only couple of other customers in store. Ordered sandwiches & milkshakes (something easy + sandwiches pre-made) but staff slow to comprehend order and very slow to deliver order to our table. When they eventually did bring out our order items were missing and told staff member we were still waiting for remainder of our order. A male staff member (appeared to be in charge) then came out and said the other missing items we ordered hadn't been paid for, the staff member taking order had made an error and we would have to return to the counter and pay for the other items. No apologies, just demanding extra payment for missing items, whereby we paid for same - This male definitely lacked Customer PR skills. The drinks were OK but salad sandwiches very average and bread stale. Not worth the long wait and...
Read moreI came to Loutit Bay Bakery on a Sunday in spring. I asked what size their chicken schnitzel roll was to the cashier woman as the ones in the window were not visible if they were the correct item or the same as the ones next to it. She then asked if I wanted a drink. I asked if they had coke no sugar. She told me almost irately, "go look in the fridge and come back." While I went to the fridge, she said to my friend "Am I supposed to know all the things that we sell?!" Well, in my opinion, it would be a very smart business decision to know what products you sell, yes. We walked over to the beach to eat and the $14.50 schnitzel sandwich was awful. Would...

I should preface by saying I’m intolerant, not coeliac, so cross contamination is ok for me. Being a standard bakery there is no way for them to ensure their GF options don’t have tiny little traces of gluten.
I’m currently eating the YUMMIEST salad sanga made freshly by the team at Louttit, using their own freshly made non gluten bread, and an almond meal choc brownie. I’m so happy.
Heaps of yummy looking options for the gluten eaters, def don’t be swayed. It’s just so nice to have gf options.
Gorgeous & friendly service with a delicious and...
