Aiming for Apollo Bay for a scallop pie, too hungry to make the distance. Found a bakery in Lorne that is associated with the Apollo Bay bakery so had all the goods. Grabbed a Scallop Mornay and a Cheeseburger pie. The Scallop pie was well put together and at a temperature that was scoff-able. I counted at least 6 scallops in the pie, maybe 7. At first I thought I may have been given a curry scallop pie because the taste was not very mornay but in the end I decided it was not curry, but not really mornay. I was not that impressed with this $12 pie. The pastry was good. 6/10. Cheeseburger Pie The pastry was quite "blonde" but held together well. The filling was bit hot and I had to hold back a few minutes to scoff down. The flavour was good with pickles, mustard and cheese and a burger patty. They were all delicious and I can describe as generously chunky in rich sauces... the prawns, the beef, the scallops. Service was friendly and fast.
