This is NOT a negative review. TLDR: good good great vibes, but I’ll dig deeper in my detailed review below. Ambiance The whole place is nice and clean with good vibes. Ample seating both inside and outside. If you’re sitting outside cockatiels will come to say hi, but please don’t feed them as it’s not the best thing to give fries and oils to birds. Even with birds all around you the tables outside are clean! There’s plenty of locals and tourists walking by on weekends with their cute dogs, so make sure to say hi 👋🏽 Staff Omg, where do I start to talk about this lovely bunch. I’m gonna be rude and try describe them as I didn’t ask any names. You need to order and pay at counter and then they bring food, drinks and whatever else you ask for to your table. There was this beautiful lady with a moon tattoo on her face, she’s so lovely and positive and smiling spreading her positivity around. Another gentleman who when I asked “what burger is this” because we had different orders, gave me the name of the burger and explained it to me as well, over and above is perfect customer service. There was another gentleman with a great smile and dreadlocks who was very friendly too. The only person who didn’t smile much was, on second thought I’m not gonna say coz everyone is allowed to have a bad day. 5 ⭐️ for all staff. Food This is the only aspect lacking a bit, and only because I’m a food snob out of Melbourne CBD criticising a local eatery in the county. I loved the beef burger (I think was called mad cow) and my friends enjoyed the chicken burgers. The fries were fresh cut I believe but not double fried making it not that crispy and that is why it is ok to use frozen fries at a cafe! Only fresh cut if you are super confident in your fries game. As for our breakie next day, the scrambled eggs are ok, but I’ve had better poached eggs and I have a feeling (not sure) they are poached in a wrap not traditional way. Also the relish I’m pretty sure comes out of a bottle (nothing wrong with that except don’t be charging premium price for bottle relish given how easy it’s to make at home OR buy better relish coz it was just ok relish) Overall loved the place and will definitely go back there again for lunch when I’m back in Lorne, maybe not for a breakfast though.

GREAT BEER AND SERVICE! Coming from the city, we've had all kinds of burgers, so its pretty hard to find anything new. However service wise, the sky's the limit. Most businesses aren't creative that way, hoping to get more business by adding more expensive cheese or buns to their meals, when in actual fact they're missing the point. Thats what Bottle of Milk did well during my last visit. It was a busy weekend, and our order was a tad late. Turns out the kitchen printer ran out of ink so they didn't get our order. As a customer, I immediately have a bunch of questions floating in my head. How did it run out of ink? Is this the norm? Does that mean every time this happens a hungry customer gets a late order? But then, the waitress immediately said she would refund part of our meal as a token of appreciation for waiting. Immediately those questions went out the window. In fact I ordered another beer with that money. That's the second business that did something similar in Lorne. Loyal customer and a great review for $8.50 refund, that's a smart investment. If only more businesses used their brains that way. Well done Bottle of Milk!

To say this is the best burger one has ever had is an overstatement because it really is very far down from even a good burger. It's a fine burger. Why I gave it 3 stars is because: 1. The buns were not toasted. I cannot stress the importance of having toasted buns in a burger. It takes a minute and it elevates the burger 10 fold. Toast your buns people. I'd dare say the buns felt a little old/stale. Tough to bite. 2. The sauce was really sour and overwhelming especially for my first bite. Just so much sourness probably because of the mustard but towards the end I actually cherished it because it cut through the fattiness. Although, this was me dipping the burger into the sauce that dripped and not actually having a whole mouthful. Less is more. 3. The patties were a little dry. All in all it's a fine burger. It's alright. Certainly not the best I've ever had contrary to what other reviews have said. Special mention to the chips which were super crunchy although slightly overcooked. Something about it made it quite not as tasty? Also, although dry, the patties were quite delicious. Happy munching 😬

ORDERED: 🍔 What a pickle!: Prime beef, tasty cheese, dill pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, house mayo, homemade tomato relish & dijon mustard ($19.00) 🍟 Hand cut hot chips on the thicker side with herb salt ($9.00) + 10% public holiday surcharge + card surcharge I paid $34.52 REVIEW: Not the best burgers I've had. The bun feels dry for me, so it started feeling like I was chewing on a dehydrated sponge. Beef patty is so thick and impactful that it drowns out every other flavour. I couldn't taste the tasty cheese, or enjoy the freshness of the lettuce or tomato. For a burger that's pickled based, I would've expected more and tangy pickles. There's slightly more pickles than in a Big Mac maccas burger, but again, everything was drowned out by the beef. If you like thick, beefy burgers, then the burgers at Bottle of Milk might be for you. Chips were thick, and there were some crunchy parts. Generous servings, I'd say it's enough to split between 3 people! I appreciated the diner style layout with tight booths and clean bathrooms. Self serve water and cutlery by the bathroom if you need.

Very disappointing. We only came because this was the less busy cafes on the strip……we understood why when we left. The big breakfast looks appealing - and that’s where it stops. Hash browns - you can smash a window with it. The sourdough bread?….almost broke my veneers, scrambled eggs????…we normally like it without the shells??? We can overlook these things…it happens..short staffing on one of the most busiest weekends…yadda yadda. However when our service is no better, then the rest of the experience deteriorates. When you try to talk down to your customers, especially 2 grown hungry male Polynesians, it’s best you show professionalism. The situation would have been easily diffused, but you continued to badger and then walked off in a huff. Very disappointed. 👎👎

I like their burgers, don't find them too amazing but I would give them 3 starts for their friendly service & for serving halal meat. I find their buns really hard but they are sourdough or cibatta or something so I think they are meant to be a little on the hard side but they should give bun options. The fries are really good though but I feel like for that price they should come with a sauce or aioli. You have to pay separately for the aioli & the KETCHUP! That is ridiculous! Also the beef burger was better then the chicken, had more flavour & was juicier. They are very pricey! $56 for 2 burgers and 1 fries to share & obviously tomato sauce & chilli aioli.
